Hey Mark, as a fresh new journalist, this was a great video to refresh up on AP style! Thanks for this.

Include the acronym behind the full name on its first mention, with the acronym in parentheses. For example: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidelines today. Subsequent mentions can simply use the acronym.

The AP Stylebook should add something more like... "When writing a story on a scientific study, report or opinion refrain from using terms like "experts" or "scientist" as it implies that the study, report or opinion is generally accepted by most professionals. Instead say "some experts say" or "one epidemiologist believes". People tend to see blanket terms like "experts" and "scientist" and assume it's a fact echoed by the larger community." Or something like that, because I'm sick of seeing reports like "scientist believes that the earth is a dry chocolate marble" then the report goes on to only cite one scientist, often at a university in bumb bumb nowhere, Kansas and what not.

Besides 3-5 sentences composing a paragraph, what is the format for paragraphs in AP style look like? If anyone can provide an example. Thank you

as the guide may change overtime, is this the latest one? does it applies in this year?

Does the AP have any rules on how to address the expression of crypto currencies? For instance, if a story includes a sum of 11 Bitcoin, could that also be expressed as “11 btc?” Or should that be capitalized, yet still abbreviated?

On 10, your instance of “is” should be replaced with “if.”

What? No Oxford comma? I liked the video until I got to that point.

Chicago Manual of Style calls for the serial comma. AP does not and has not for decades. Brevity is so important in journalism that the serial comma, because AP considers it optional, is not required.

16:56 in, sixth line down, I believe that “is” is supposed to be an “if”, no?
