So glad she got her own back and slayed with a stellar performance.
@charlesjames33287 жыл бұрын
'She' has a name... it is SO rude (in the English language) to refer to someone present as "she" and "her" which both men did repeatedly. They should have been referring to Grace by name. Add "Was it a late night last night?" "Can you hear what I'm saying?" "Do you understand what I am saying to you?" "I do not know where your head is" "I wasn't listening to her I was listening to you" "Let's keep it on a slightly higher level". Russell bailed on Grace in 3 minutes and then brought out his 2nd guest and proceeded to ignore Grace completely for 12 minutes until he brought a third guest from the audience and didn't even bother to introduce them to one and other and gave Walter a further 6 minutes before bringing out a 4th guest! Grace was treated so rudely. Russell was a complete arse.

She's right... it's a rude set up... if you notice guest seating now... they all sit along a couch so the host is facing all of them. It is rude to turn your back on a guest like that. It's also rude to point out that someone is not communicating properly. You learn to play along as a host instead of insulting your guests. It's rude to leave someone waiting to be spoken to again with your back to them. But it's 1980, so I guess they haven't worked things out yet.

It is considered very rude when an interviewer turns his or her back on the other guest when they are acknowledging or listening to the presented guest. The guy was literally sitting sideways on his chair not only just turning his back on her. It is very rude and she had come from a shoot all the way from Asia which was hours and hours away just to do this interview and the guy was not taking her seriously. So, she felt like she was wasting her time. She was teaching him how to do his job. She handled it very well until he kept referring her manners and sitting position which she was fine until his constant wisecracks and digs towards her. Grace was not tolerating it, so she hit him. She may have also been on her period.

She later attributed her violent outburst to: “bad coke, pigeon shit and hallucinations.” As for Feminism, do try a little Karen Straughan.

Yeah...this interview was a disaster waiting to happen. From the way the chairs/guests were set up, Hardy's pompous demeanour and Grace being Grace (she explained her off mood on this show in her book). I'm not sure if any of the participants are particularly to blame. He clearly sensed something was off and didnt know how to handle her.

A little blast from 37 years in the past- I was the VT engineer doing the recording of the live broadcast- the impression then and now is that it was fairly crude publicity seeking on her part. But on that level it succeeded.

What an odious man! The good old utterly patronising days....Thank you for knocking sense into Harty...
