Grace Jones - Slave To The Rhythm (Extended Intro Mix 2020)

A mix I made using the original multitrack session recordings. Unfortunately not all the parts were present in this session, so some things like the "voice over" parts are missing. There are a few things that were scrapped from the tapes that I put back into the mix. Cheers!

I just want to firstly say Thankyou for the mix Bert , outstanding , to be able to hear the isolated parts is a real pleasure. I a So want to thank all the other people for their beautiful comments , you are all so right . I was lucky enough to split from a girl in London in 85 and so ran away to nyc where I was welcomed with open arms by the beautiful people , I went to the palladium nightclub many times and high in ecstasy I heard this record , it was always the best tune of the night . The whole club was in rapture . I was 20 years old , 59 now , my love for this record has never wavered for a second , it is truly the greatest record ever .

Phenomenal mix, thank you for this Bert, I loved hearing those whappy guitars by themselves and naked for the first time, just incredible, and that chorus effect they always used in the 80s on funky guitars. But I love what you did with it, it kinda reminds me of the extended version of Man in the Mirror (or it may have been Human Nature lol) and some of the stuff SWG does with their mixes. This was awesome, though, genuinely, I'm in awe. Can't imagine how long it took you to rearrange these tracks lol This is such a legendary song, so it's cool hearing it done some justice.
