thank you, for showing WHAT the grace notes are, where they lie on the scale, how one touches upon them, softly, quickly. it's a whole new way of understanding scales, modes, how they can be used together. trying to understand western (European) musical theory, ( to begin with ? ) and know how to translate it to be useable , vocally, & on an instrument . which i will have to write down & learn.

I had tried to fetch notation for songs and play them, and have wondered why the notations don't feel quite as alive or matching as the real song. Your video helped me understand why. Thanks again for sharing!

So nicely explained....... At the age of 67 I expressed my desire to learn music and I have been practising since last five months. Many music schools are only crazy after money and taking little interest in teaching so nicely in the way you have been explaining in your videos.... Hats off Ma'am for your efforts. You are like real Dronacharya for me.... 🙏🙏🙏

Hello, I really loved this video. I have three questions that you can maybe make another video on. 1) How to bring sweetness in voice? (Some people sing really nice but that sweet part seem to be missing) 2)How important is it for a beginner to sing all types of songs only in (his/her) scale. Many a times, some of the singers try to match their voice to a particular song's voice, even if it is not in their range, just to make the song sound good, like original. ( I don't have too high or too base voice. I am in the medium range. And when I hear most of the Bollywood songs being sung at high scales and pitches, it feels bad. Like that is the only benchmarked voice. I feel I need to sing only in that voice too make the song sound good. There are less examples of Hindi songs having base voice.) 3) It is said that one should learn music systematically. First postures, breathing, then alankaars, then raags and so on. But on KZbin there's too much confusion. What is the real right system that takes one from basic to advanced. What should be learnt first and always before another part. There must be some structure in music, I guess. Mam, please do consider this question. Thank you very much. Always love your videos ☺️

@@kantikhanna563 Yes it is truly a divine gift. You need to have initially something to get it polished as in so many things in life. There are so many musical maestros and teachers out there, who you won't listen twice. Just as there are gifted math teachers and not so much.
