I wonder if the people in the audience had ANY idea how lucky they were to be there in that moment experiencing that. When these guys hit the stage, magic happened- it's the only way to describe it. This song just tears at the heartstrings. Grace does songs like this so well, like no other!

I'm a hardcore heavy metal guitarist who loves nothing more than the headbanging thrash from the likes of anthrax, to the rocking melody's of Joe Satriani. But I must tell you: Grace is amazing -- her singer/song writer talent combined with her musicianship is virtually unparalleled in today's music scene. Major props and kudos. Killer.

Harsh yet tender, edgy yet soft, brutally honest but still compassionate. At the end of the day, or perhaps a life, all one can do is apologize and ask forgiveness for hurtful decisions. Brilliant songwriting--really hits home with my heart with respect to choices made.

Musically, this band is simply exceptional. Rock. Blues, R&B. Deep, soulful, moving, substance and quality. It's music the way music is supposed to be. Can't wait to see them at ACL Fest in October in Austin. They are too good to be "big." And we should all be thankful.

Best damn female vocalist we're gonna hear this decade. The fact she's a writer and musician as well makes me respect her talent even more. Can't wait til the rest of the world discovers what I already know--Grace Potter deserves a shelf full of Grammy's.

I have been blessed enough to have the opportunity to see Grace Potter live, it is not only worth it but quite a treat. She is extremely talented (that goes, certainly, for the bad as well). This song, so melancholy and beautiful.

I just recently saw Grace for the first time on the Jimmy Kimmel show, and have been searching her vids regularly ever since. At first, I'll admit it was her beauty that hooked me, but it didn't take long to realize that this girl is very talented musician and singer / song writer...I'm hooked! and this song is right up there with my favorites now. I'll be ready the next time she passes through Toronto that's for sure

I've got this entire show recorded on my DVR. It's awesome! It is from a show called Beautiful Noise that was on the Rave channel on VOOM which Dish Network did away with. For that reason I dropped Dish but kept the DVR for this recording and a couple of others from Rave. I hope that hard drive never dies! I'm sure there are rights issues somewhere but it sure would be nice if GPN could find a way to release this as a DVD.

My friend restores old Rhodes Keyboards. Its amazing how they look inside and out when he's done. They just sound great. Says he does it to keep the music from the 60's - 70's alive. Reminds me of the Ray's Music in the Blues Brother's Movie.

@animalman1122 It's an electric piano called a Fender Rhodes. Fender is the brand and the Rhodes is a very famous electric piano. Another comparable sound would be the Wurlitzer. All very common in funk/soul/rock circles.

Yesterday, he said my eyes were fading fast away I said, "Well, what do you expect? You asked me not to stay And if it had all been for the best, I wouldn't feel this way" He said Oh he said, he said it's crazy, how love stays with me You know it hurts me, 'cause I don't wanna fight this war And it's amazing to see me reading through this scene Of love and fear and apologies Apologies My love is like a blanket That gets a little bit too warm sometimes I wanna wrap somebody in it Who can hold me in his arms 'Cause when it got a little too hot in there He was always stepping out for air and he froze Oh, he froze Oh he says it's crazy, how love stays with me, yeah You know it hurts me, 'cause I don't wanna fight this war And it's amazing to see me reading through this scene Of love and fear and apologies Apologies Yesterday, he looked at me With a tear in his eye and said "I'll always tell you you're my friend I hope I don't have to lie 'Cause it's clear you love another man" I said, "You're damn right" And he said Oh he said, he said it's crazy, how love stays with me You know it hurts me, 'cause I don't wanna fight this war And it's amazing to see me reading through this scene Of love and fear and apologies He says it's crazy how love stays with me, yeah You know it hurts me that I didn't figure it out before And now it's too late for a soliloquy Way too late for dignity It's time for apologies, apologies Apologies, apologies

One of the children from the child abuse shelter I worked at introduced me to this recording. That child died.
@pierceaero30052 жыл бұрын
I keep listening to this song, over and over. Eventually I realized, the child was apologizing to me. The abused can sometimes feel guilty just for existing. So many Veterans commit suicide in that state of mind. 22 a day at one point. As if it is a sin to exist, and the only Redemption is to die and cease to be. He was apologizing for being. This performance is so beautiful. It gave that child Veteran a voice, before dying.

F! It still hurts to listen to this song. Angelic children die daily. Nobody cares. Nobody remembers them either.
