typical behavior. that was believed to have been partly involved in the other "witch hunts"
@jeremyphillips78273 жыл бұрын
That's not how it happened, though. The accusations started in 1697, 4 years before her husband died. After each of the first 3 accusation, no action was taken by the court, and Grace and her husband, together, sued each of the accusers in court for defamation. The accusation that actually got her convicted came 5 years after her husband had died and left her the land. This time, it came from Elizabeth Hill and her husband, a couple she had just successfully sued and won monetary compensation from a month earlier for assault and battery after she had gotten into a fight with Elizabeth. So it was most likely retaliation for the lawsuit, not anything to do with her inheritance. There was nothing unusual about a widow inheriting her late husband's land back then. It happened all the time, especially since women live longer than men, and men were often older than their wives to begin with in those days. I've been reading up on all this, because I just found out she was one of my direct ancestors. It's ironic, because three of my cousins are actually Wiccan. I wonder what Grace would have thought about that.

I like this channel too, HOWEVER i understand that in modern times KZbin video creators can't make THE BEST content without making money {and or #sponsorship}. I clicked on this video to hear about a story of witch trial history, DIDN'T APPRECIATE hearing you go on about NORDVPN -> which is why I gave a like to the comment from Nicki Knox. I'm not angry Just saying. Just a suggestion: instead of your 3 minute "rant" advertising that rudely interrupts your subject matter you're SO BRILLIANT 👍 at talking about, Why not sell merchandise on your channel's profile? 🙋♂️😿👨🏫🧞♀️🐿🌿

I was grew up and currently live just 10 miles from Pungo ( modern Virginia Beach) . One of the main thoroughfares in Virginia Beach is still named Witchduck Rd. My Great-Grandparents immigrated from Dresden, Germany in the 1880's to Virginia. They proceeded to purchase and maintain a moderate sized farm. Growing up I heard many different varieties of this story. My Great Grandmother had an endless assortment of tales concerning witches ,fairies, gnomes, ghosts, etcetera. Life is far more interesting with a dose of the eclectic. I enjoy your channel and wish you much success.

Unfortunately a lot of healers were sadly put to death as witches. If I was examined under those ancient laws I would have suffered the same fate. Having an accessory nipple would have sealed my death. Also curing animals and humans of illness was often interpreted on the basis that if you can heal you can also kill. I'm a qualified spiritual healer and a qualified nurse . I work mostly with animals, but have had some success in healing humans.

A witch is someone who's extremely wise and compassionate ;someone who possesses knowledge on many subjects and simply knows things others wouldn't even consider learning ! If you hurt one, you might get on her bad side however ,a true witch knows the consequences that come if shed use lower dimensional entities powers to perform black magick. Theres so much more to witches than these stories on how primitive some suggest witches were/are...👌 And its disrespectful to a witch if one accuses someone of being a witch if they aren't really a witch. There are rules and regulations too that witches must follow..witches dont just use divination because they want to..its used when its needed ,only and respectfully!

Feel sorry for you and all your kind......that fake path of witchcraft you seem to idolize .......witchcraft was taught by fallen angels to the woman they stole from humans and made disgusting nephilim giants with. Did you know giants exist and their remains found all over the world ???? You should look into how often the spirits witches conjure fool and decieve the practitioners......eapecially familiar evil spirits that know your whole earthly life. And how often practitioners are caught unaware.........you could listen to this British guys story on azazel for a perfect example........sacrifing life is so far from godly.......the only sacrifice God wants is that of your sin ........and all that witchcraft taught by fallen angels could have been learned without them through nature and god .......learning by light love and nature by yourself through your holy spirit is waaaaayyy more wholesome.......the fallen angels taught techniques and technology ......withought natural law and karma

Thats silly. The "occult" kinda isnt an actual thing, its too broad of a category. Most of the witch crazes ended in the 1600s. SOME of the primary contexts of the witch crazes were: A. The shift between Feudalism and Capitalism, B. The "closures of the commons", C. reinforcement of patriarchal roles in the dominant church (as opposed to more egalitarian christianities), D. The development of the all male professional medical establishment, E. Small pockets of surviving fragments of Pagan religions. On one level, the "occult" doesnt exist in a way, it is a (predominantly pejoritive) word for a very huge category of groups and ideas which chose to, or were forced to, be hidden, due to some security concerns. Dominant state or religious power structures are usually what drives "occult" ideas or groups into secrecy. Hell, the Roman Catholic Church and Protestants probably made half the occult "occulted" through seeking to destroy all Pagans and alternative Christians
