She wrote, composed, and sang four original songs. No one in the history of any talent show has done this. She is more than just her voice. She is brilliant. People take years to compose and write a great song. She made 4. So to all those haters out there give me a comparable example to Grace. You can’t thats why she won. She is like Bob Dillon or Joni Mitchell. Wow

It's very simple. Grace created every bit of it. She wrote the lyrics, produced the melody, decided how how to present it, composed the basic music, and performed the presentation. The AGT supporting musicians were afterthoughts, which thankfully dovetailed nicely with her direction. Most folks dont realize just how much silly work goes into the "hits" they listen to today. This 12 year old child basically came along and said, "Hold my Kool-Aid and watch this", then made em all look like slackers. Wow. 12 years old, and this little girl touches a nerve like "professionals" only dream they could. Well done.

all this proves is that you have very poor taste in music.
@shawnrodgers64667 жыл бұрын
Hatchett40 you don't have to have good taste in music to appreciate pure talent. Let's put this into perspective: she bought her own Ukelele for her 11th birthday. She auditioned for AGT at 12 years old. She self-taught herself to play the Ukelele in about a year's time with Ukelele Teacher on KZbin. She writes all of her own music. SHE WAS JUST 12 YEARS OLD when she was discovered. During the 11th Season of AGT, she wrote, composed and performed two of her live performances in a week's time between airings. That's just the beginning. Then, for those of us who are fans, her absolutely astonishing voice is just the icing on the cake. You're entitled to your own opinion about her "sound", but it is completely wrong NOT to recognize this girl is a true artist.

I've heard this song and watched this clip numerous times but I just started to appreciate how ingenious the lyrics are and how they reflect the pain she was going through and her courage in dealing with those mean girls. A true poet who is also a musical prodigy. Smart, charismatic, pretty, a great sense of humour and fearless. There are lots of artists that I like and lots of songs I appreciate but Grace is unique. Like the panel of judges, one just falls for her in a fanatical way. Have you ever heard Simon gush about someone so consistently?(Makes me really love him)

Well...suicide is the third leading cause of death in adolescents in the US. Here in a couple of minutes Grace attacks one major aspect of the problem, defines it and provides a path to deal with it. She also brings attention to it through song and the millions of viewers who will share this video in the years to come. Talent. There is really no comparison. From the girl you see in this video to the young women you see growing before you everyday. To paraphrase an old saying, "with great talent comes great responsibility". I believe Grace will be up to it. She was sent to us for reasons she says she doesn't even understand. Thanks Grace. You still have a ways to go!

ROCROCROC1 Amazingly true! She is all of that. All I’ve seen from her is growth and more development in her music. Yes if I’m even just feeling lonely or wanting to be with music that lightens the mood or makes me cry, I go to Grace. Being able to finally meet her and hug and take a pic was like, unreal. And she kept wanting to talk to me about something but we had to keep the line moving so never got to figure out what she got so excited about. She makes my life better and I scream her name from the mountaintops. Yes, she’s that cool 👍

Right now Grace is considered to be one of the most iconic, and talented natural singer of this era. The surrealistic sounds of her voice calls out like an angelic trumpet with her vibrato at key moments, which is why everyone loves how she sings without reservation. Incredible in both singing, and song writing her own lyrics and that is why she had won the gold buzzer, as well as the entire AGT finals. From my observations in her career she is going to win multiple grammys soon, very soon. Hopefully Grace will make it to the hall of fame as one of the most influential singers in history simply because she has the rare gift that most dream of. With already two albums out, and working on more Grace had created a niche to which fans all over the world had yearned for as she rises higher, and higher above all others. Howie Mandel made the right choice when he pressed that buzzer on her very first audition, and that is rare indeed for AGT. Excellent talented young lady.

Then you also have to ponder the importance and the depth of Howie’s hug in Grace’s audition. Howie is a germaphobe and is usually “hands off”, and for him to hug her not once, but twice, speaks volumes to me. She is a very talented young lady, and she is still doing well. She will be opening for the Imagine Dragons during their tour!!!!!

Ernst Müllner - quite a month ago I wrote that the most important German music price ECHO is on the edge, when Helene Fischer is hoarse. Since yesterday we know that this award will be abolished after two german rappers have been honored who ruined the reputation of hip hop music, which formerly was a clear statement for tolerance, peace and equal opportunities ... Music is better in U.S., but I personally dislike some bombastic video clips of Imagine Dragons, which remind me to George Orwell 1984 novel. Here in Europe my blues R&B community likes cinema sequences for ex. from Almodovar or Kaurismäki. Grace brings the people back to find her true self, with her music, her lyrics, her dancing, her interviews. That´s the real miracle we are living in since her performance at AGT.

I know this might sound goofy, but I think I'm just aware. There is something special about her, but I think she is just the beginning of many children that will surface, become visible, influence, and have a positive impact on our world. What startled me is that I have an 11-year old niece. Her name is Grace. She is years ahead of her time too in every way a person could hope....scholastically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and psychologically. She looks very much like Grace VanderWaal; face of an angle. Name aside, I have noticed many children that embody these collective qualities. They are advanced, wise, gentle, humble, strong, emotionally and intellectually intelligent, confident, positive, sensitive, aware, fragile, and full of joy, humor and wit. They should be guided, protected, and given this kind of platform when they are ready. They will be leaders amongst their peers. Parents of these children know they have them. They can come packaged in all sorts that don't fit the mold and even with challenges. So happy for this young lady and her family.

+Furious Kitty I never said all children will surface like I described and not all will have all those qualities; rather embody a collection of them. My point was they will have a positive impact on the world. It is not always clear to a young person to even recognize they have such wonderful qualities, especially if they are not nurtured or the child is not interested at this time. When you get older and meet enough people and have enough experiences it becomes easier to recognize these beautiful qualities in others. I think it is great that you love so many different types of animals and things. Whether you can understand it or not, but that in of itself IS an advanced sign. Being awkward is also a point of reference. If you are comfortable with yourself and like yourself then the feeling you believe to be awkwardness is more that you have yet to meet others that accept you just as you are and quite possibly a sign you are advanced in ways that challenge your ability to blend with others who are not. Keep being that Furious Kitty. :)
