Its no secret that I love Grace and her performances, but her interviews are also so awesome. Grace is like two different people, When not performing or interviewing she's like a 14 yr old kid. When she's performing she's a twenty something professional performer. Damn, On these interviews she is so poised and smart, its hard to believe. Not to put down her performances, I enjoy her interviews just as much as her performances... I'm just lost for more words that I can say for her.

Lloyd - I agree with you. Love Grace's unique voice, complete with voice cracks, etc. Husky does seem a bit off to describe it, and smokey doesn't quite match either. (Looking back at the AGT audition, Grace's sister's speaking voice also has that similar quality.) Grace is awesome.

Props to Elvis Duran... one interviewer who never ONCE was patronizing towards Grace, never ONCE brought up age or AGT, and spoke to her like the adult human she (mentally) and (emotionally) is! Best interview right up there with Zack Sang, the difference being that Zack is in the younger generation and Elvis is older. Way to go Grace and Elvis! I come back to this interview a couple of times each year.

Grace Vanderwaal is a treasure. Her songwriting is authentic and it's clear it's coming from her. She and Bono are my favorite songwriters. How's that for range? Bono says he can't keep himself from writing when a melody or lyric come into his mind. He has to write it down. I get the feeling that Grace is similar. She's written a lot of good songs in a short time, and I love what she did with Clearly. I wish Elvis had asked her about the change of lyric from "I can see all obstacles in my way" to "I accept all the things that I cannot change." Good interview, Elvis (just hearing this, two years later).

I have been listening to this on loop (well In My Blood) with Bluetooth for the past three hours and I have to say I really hope Grace stays with the acoustic sound she does(i.e. the Bean Runner and MTV roof top performance). I really think her voice is her strength and really hope she considers a all acoustic album. Great video Sam.
@gregcadman61026 жыл бұрын
An all acoustic album would blow my mind
@Calers-gu1ib6 жыл бұрын
It's her best, doing it that way but being a strictly acoustic artist gives her a Melanie Safka size audience, doing it grander gives her a Adele size audience. We want to see Grace get as big as possible without compromising her music
@kevinwood62066 жыл бұрын
I agree that we all want to see Grace's stock rise, but if you look at the numbers just on you tube her more acoustic sounds have by far been more viewed than her over produced album, EP, and music videos. Maybe all acoustic is the wrong wording but a simple song like Riptide at the Brooklyn Library (as well as non-produced Clearly) is viewed more than her music videos and songs off her album says a lot about keeping a more simple sound.
@osovagabundo16 жыл бұрын
in the vein of doing what ever i think a double release would be a great thing. a produced album that she can experiment and grow and an acoustic album both dropped on te same day

I think it would be interesting if we Fanderwaals started a tradition of never recording So Much More Than This, live, from this time forward. I think we should at least resist recording it. It would become a song with few live performance video/audio available, making them worth more. This would draw attention to the song, which draws attention to the message. And it would serve as it's own example of putting theory in to physical, tangible, practice....just a thought 😎..... and it's what Grace wants.
