I think in the long run it would be better if she didn't blow up. The hard thing with younger artists is that their unique creativity clashes too hard with fame. They get stuck into a bubble of popularity and the substance they end up drawing from becomes so skewed. With Grace her sound and approach is way different and I think that helps, but it's still walking an edge. In this case America's Got Talent is very lucky that Grace exists: she raises the quality of the whole show. Cowell has found a perfect jewel here, and I hope he humbly respects her; at long last his name will go down in the positive section of Modern Music History, without the faintest shadow of a doubt, unless he plays the fool! FWIW, my favorite video/song by Grace is easily "Waste my time" - because after first hearing her sing it not long ago, it was the magic singer/songwriter combination that really made me hear just what level of vocal artistry a 15-year old girl could achieve! The rest of her collection is fine, naturally, but hearing her show-stopping vocals on "Waste my time" indicates that, she really needs a song/songwriter combination that exploits her exquisite vocal range and does it apart from the old favorite, but limiting pop-rock standard type songs. No other song I've heard her sing since "Waste my time" utilizes her vocal range and voice control in a way that's unlike anything else she's sang. This young girl has nowhere to go but up, even so the sound and vocal style Grace becomes known for, more so than most other new singers is going to depend very strongly on the songwriters and songs she chooses to perform!

Grace you are such a remarkable interpreter and conveyor of incredibly real emotion and deep feeling and you are somehow able to project those feelings and emotions directly to us. It's very powerful! It's the way the legends of the 60's and 70's did it.. made it real for us. Actually this is SO real that it would be tough for me to watch you in so much pain if I didn't understand that what I'm watching is true artistic genius at it's very very best!!

Man when she wants can she ever belt it out and do those voice cracks perfectly which come so naturally to Grace. Maybe the best version of The City I have heard to date.

I still like the first time she sang it best but , I love every performance of this. The City, 8/13/2019 at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashvillekzbin.info/www/bejne/a3bdeJx4qc-ta68

@@chmtopforever2177 Yes that was great as well. You just can't beat a live audience performance like that for its energy and strong effect it had on Grace's connection with them.

Holy moly she’s good! This just replaced “Lungs” as my favorite Grace Vanderwaal song! The natural control she has over her voice simply blows me away. Very few performers ever reach her skill level - she’s just getting started! Thank you, Grace, for sharing your amazing talents!

This young lady feels what she is singing. Not many artists feel it; They go through the motions. Grace feels it.

i love grace vanderwaal and her band ..the letters volume 1 EP is the best music of these times.. for a person liike me who was a teen in the 90s and born in 1979 ..i'd use to feel like music this generation is getting suckier..nothing beats the amazing bands that emerged from the late 80s and early 90s and rocked the shit out of us in the 90s with so many genres compared to today where everything is either acoustic or dance ,rap is always an add on in some mainstream music and coldplay had switch to stuff like sky full of stars..whats that?EDM? whatever it is..im so glad that grace is changing the game..her EP has a mix of genres ,every song has a different feel..some are old school with a mordern touch big thumbs up to the band too for giving it that sound ..thee best album ... love all the songs on the EP (Letters Volume 1) if you dint buy you should ..the last time there was an album that i loved all the songs on it was in 1996 BON JOVI THESE DAYS ALBUM so this is really something.. i hope she and the band get a major award for this EP ..

The city among the new ones is one of the best. Grace always surprises, really the inner strength, this magical way of interpreting, bringing life to what she sings is fantastic, on the other hand, we realize that there is a very strong connection between the singer and her band and that is very cool and makes a difference . Full of talent, it causes smiles and applause from a super excited audience, it's incredible, congratulations and "success always" !!!
