Thanks so much for your ministry, learning so much from your videos and website. I can now understand the Bible much better and so many areas of my Christian teaching, where I've been totally confused before, have been cleared up.

What still makes me shiver from in hindsight is the pure selflessness of Moses and Paul being ready to even lose their own salvation for their unsaved brothers, at the very price of their own souls. (Exodus 32:32; Romans 9:3) Meaning like, I would perhaps die for another person as a Christian (and thus be absent from the body but immediately present with Christ) BUT I'd rather think twice to lose my salvation for them. With JESUS CHRIST as GOD, He cannot "lose His place in the book of life" because He IS LIFE and the GIVER of life, the creator Himself. As a Christian though, redeemed and saved by His abundant grace, I confess I'd rather lose my perishable human life than my eternal salvation for another sinner to take my place. 🙏

Pentecost churches seem to always invite the Holy Spirit into their church service. Ive always thought that is strange because theoretically speaking, the Holy Spirit would already be there within the members there.

Because they associate themselves with the same principles that Israel practiced in the Old Covenant. Example: when Solomon dedicated the temple and the presence of God filled the place. Pentecostals focus on the tangible and the visible, relying on emotions rather than written truths rightly divided.

The recovering alcoholic (me) really understands this need 😊

Jesus is the difference. He makes the difference. You having Jesus is the difference.

Addiction died in the old man who was crucified in Christ. If you've received the blood atonement, the sin-payment of Christ, without your works, the truth is you in your new heart are not an alcoholic, nor are you a recovering anything. The old man died. The new spirit is a resurrected life, created after God in holiness and righteousness. The addiction is in your flesh. It's chemicals, it's a thought process, it's emotions. Recon yourself to be dead to sin, but alive unto God.

I was trying to find who first said God hates the sin and loves the sinner (or something close to that). Looks like maybe Augustine, no surprise there, sounds like the catholic teaching I came out of 40 years ago, though I've definitely heard a few preachers say it over the years. Anyway, I wrote down the scripture references given on the outline to this lesson. Thanks, Justin.

@7:36 Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. You skimmed right over that one. No one expounds on what it feels like to have Christ dwelling in them. I will tell you it feels at times like my heart is on fire with love for Christ. Can anyone else testify to this?
@Corinna_Schuett_GER Жыл бұрын
Yes "at times" but feelings are not proof of anything. Unbelievers have emotions too and can be mislead by them. We don't trust in emotions and feelings, we trust in the WORD of God. Just that.

@@Corinna_Schuett_GER Revelation 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, What do you think John was feeling for him to make the statement "was in the Spirit"? You don't think that was something he felt?
@Corinna_Schuett_GER Жыл бұрын
@@lagg-alot8308 Yes sure but this was a special message from God, not some daily life routine. I do personally not "feel" the Holy Spirit always but still I do know He's dwelling inside of me. I'm a child of God, born again in His Spirit, saved and sealed and I KNOW it because I judge every situation in life according to Him (1 Corinthians 2:14-16). I don't have to "feel" it all the time. Physical sensations like e.g. tingling in the stomach (If you mean sth like that) are quite rare and for me NOT essential to know God is with me.

@@Corinna_Schuett_GER Why would Paul make this statement? "if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you" To say "If" means there is a possibility that the Spirit is Not present. How can you tell? Spurgeon states that he Feels the Holy Spirit. I can testify to feeling a spirit. Why do some say they feel it and some say they never did. If I did not feel it I would be on my knees praying asking God why not?

it is a spiritual glowing embrace feeling like Jesus giving you a BIG HUG by something (Holy Spirit) that enters into you. You can feel when it enters and when it leaves. @@Corinna_Schuett_GER
