So many of you asked me to make this video. This is very general view of how we prepare for tent camping. We camp with our 4 kids and our dogs and we love it. I like to do a lot of the prep work ahead and still try to be healthy while we are outdoors. Do you camp? Whats your go to meal?

I make a veggie/beef/bean chilli ahead of time and freeze it. We let it thaw while driving to the site then throw it on the fire while we set up. I also make banana pancake batter and freeze it in a ziplock bag. It thaws overnight and then we clip the edge of the bag and make pancakes the first morning we are there with easy clean up. I love the pasta salad idea!

Hey, I'm Chris and I have always wanted to go camping ever since I was about 6 years old. The reason I wanted to go camping was because I remember watching a Season 1 episode of "Barney & Friends" where Barney takes 5 of his friends (Tosha, Min, Kathy, Michael and Luci) camping. I have sat around an open fire many times and even tried a s'more with a Nestle crunch bar, it's really good. What I wanna know is what songs do y'all sing around the campfire? One of my favorite songs to sing around the campfire is called "MMMBop", the smash 1997 hit by Hanson

I’d love to know what the campfire nachos are on your longer menu?? We are Oregonians and camping is a huge part of the culture up here! One things we do is pack our clothes in packing cubes to help keep the tent organized! Thanks for sharing - I always forget about pasta salad and I will make that for our next trip, and definitely try the rice cake smores!

Wish I could like this twice! Loved this! It's extremely similar to how we prep for camping. We've camped in CO, but our favorite spot is Red River, NM. We went for 3 nights earlier this month and are already planning next year's trip there.

Great tips. My kids love going camping at campgrounds that have lakes where they can spend the whole day swimming or floating the river. Those places are usually pretty hot so we go through ice quickly. I started using dry ice to keep our food cold and it will even freeze some of it if we are going on longer trips by adding more dry ice.

We camp for about 6 days at a time and I normally pack half worth of clothes other than underwear and socks. Kids get dirty 🤷🏻‍♀️ camping is dirty so if they wear a dirty shirt oh well lol

We tent camp too. Always have and I’m 40+ now. I’m one of the weirdos that is holding out against a camper!! Our absolute favorite place is Hot Springs Resort in Hot Springs NC. Resort makes it sound fancy, haha but it’s not!! The roads aren’t paved, it doesn’t have WiFi (thank God) and it’s very low on rules. I’ve been camping there since I was 17. Another favorite is Roan Mountain State Park. So cool in the summer. So many trails to hike. I love you even more now that I know you are a tent camper. Solidarity sister!!
