I am almost 80 and have been shaving for about 3-4 years. I was a blonde before i turned white, so i had much white peach fuzz. I was shaving in the tub last week...without a mirror. 😢 The front half of my left brow is gone, and i felt it when i did it, 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. I was holding my hand ove it but when i started between my brows, guess i didn't move it far enough over. SMH . Hopefully it will grow back, but no evidence yet. 😢😢 Love your beautiful videos and calming voice! I have been a Dermelect convert ever since i saw your first video featuring it. I wonder how many of us are shaving our faces this week thanks to this video. Yes I am one of them. 🙋♀️ It's heading into Summer here in Australia so I keep my moisturiser in my beauty fridge. Edit.... Ive just finished this routine. The moisturiser was beautiful at the end being cool from the fridge so soothing. I used the ordinary Niacinamide but I had I had the paulas choice products you used other than that. I had no irritation so praying tomorrow no bumps or redness. I understand now why the men who used to go to the barber and have the real sharp knife shave loved it so much. Love to all from Australia 💕

Very helpful routine. I remember exactly when I started shaving my “mustache” - freshman year of high school, science class - the guy who sat behind me said I had a dark mustache, which in hindsight it was darker than my blonde hair. I couldn’t believe he just said it to my face. That night I took a disposable razor and shaved it off, dry. That was 1984 and I still do it.

Hi there. I shaved for the first time, 3 weeks ago because the lanugo was really bothering me. While I got a nice shave in, I think I went overboard with the tiny razor, because I ended up with some broken capillaries along my upper cheek area. The very next evening, I felt little bumps on the sides of my cheeks, where I didn't have any before. Oh my gosh, and when I felt the "stubble" grow back, I said "Oh, no!" But, now after watching your video, I am going to follow your steps. Thankfully I have both the niacinamide and Paula's Choice 2% salicylic acid (staples). I so appreciate you sharing this info with us. Thank you!

Yes the stubble grows back and it gets black and then you get all self-conscious about someone touching it. Then you spend a lot on laser just to have it not really work and what does work only lasts a little while. It was the worst mistake of my life and I wish I never would have done it. Because I think when I'm old...who will shave me and I'll have a beard.

So glad I saw your video! I am 36 and have shaved my face since my teens. Lately, I have noticed I am getting bumps after shaving..tiny pimples or irritated under the skin bumps. I couldn’t figure out what to use to stop it. I’ve been using retin a the last 8 months, so I’ve cut out SA but that definitely has to be the key because I didn’t get the bumps when I used to use SA daily! I will be trying it your way! Thank you!!
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri4 жыл бұрын
Hi Krysten. I only use my BHA/SA a couple days a week so I still use retinoids and BHA's (not usually on the same night). And also making sure you clean your face well 1st and use a new razor. If I use the razor past 4 times, I sometimes get little bumps. And if I use other razor brands, I get bumps. So I now only use this brand. But for me, the BHA has made the biggest difference in preventing the bumps. 😘

Hi Vicki, we can really use the same for our arms and hands as we do on our face....spf is the most important and I also like to use Amlactin lotion to help gently exfoliate. BUT the SPF is key. It will take time to fade them but they lighten up much easier than the spots on my face. Also laser. I've never had it but I see some amazing results when people do get laser. 😘

Vicki Dewar Hi. What has worked really well for me is using the vitamin c I use on my face on the back of my hands. AND I was living in the desert and 3 years ago started wearing gloves when driving. I like the sun protection ones from Outdoor Research. They come in cool colors. When I walk outside SPF! My old spots have faded, shrunk or disappeared and I don’t have new ones. I just saw my derm for mole check and she was amazed at my hands. I am 73 and live in SoCal so perfect setup for lots of spots. Good luck!

I’m very fair and live in So. California. (Native) God also gave me red/auburn, (gone platinum now naturally), hair and also sensitive skin. Spots form wherever the sun kisses me. Yes! Must use sunblock UVA/UVB daily. But hands are difficult to deal with when so busy. So I use a Murad product that works really well. Just use regularly and be a little patient. You will soon detect a difference. So keep it up! Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the special tips on shaving the face. I do it maybe once a month. I kind of hate the phase where the hair first start growing back and its stubbly. I feel paranoid that if people see it, it looks a little manly. So I never do it if I have to go to the Dentist or somewhere else where people are going to be very close up. I almost rather look like the fuzzy peach in that case.

@@GracefulBeautyWithSheri I did this 2 days ago and was very nervous. But my skin now feels smooth. I also think I need to now use less of my skincare products on my face, feels like too much. Assume this is normal? Also my skin seems shinner during the day, not oily as I have more dry skin, but more shinny - is that normal? Anyway, I'm not used to seeing the skin on my face so well, feels wonderful. Thanks!

Hi! Thank you for the discount codes, I’ve used a couple, and great videos! I’m half Mex half Japanese so I have been shaving my face for over 20yrs! So funny it’s just becoming a thing in recent yrs. My girlfriends thought I was crazy no matter what I said! Lol For me it’s mostly that i look better. Makeup does apply a little better. don’t see much difference in skincare application or effects. I just don’t see that huge difference you and few others KZbinrs have mentioned. Maybe I need to wait longer. It’s only been 8 months since I’ve done all 3 together. Thanks again! Lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Sheri, would you still recommend Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid afterwards or the Avene hyaluron Activ B3 Concentrated Plumping Serum that you mention in a newer video you posted about face shaving?
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri11 ай бұрын
Either one is great. Just depends on what YOUR skin needs at the moment. Sometimes I use my PC BHA, other times I just use Avene Hyaluron or Dermelect's Barrier Repair Serum or I will use Azelaic Acid. Or a combination of all of them if I'm doing a lengthy routine. If you sometimes get those little shave bumps then I definitely use the PC BHA for that. 🤗

So shaving is better then waxing for face? I have waxed my face many times before but was always afraid of losing elasticity on my skin because of it so I did not do it often. And I have always been afraid to shave and get thicker hair like man. Thank you for clarifying the “hair issue” in the video. I have it confess I’m still nervous to try but I think I will now :)

Loved this video and all of your other videos. Bought the Gilette razors today and plan to shave tonight. I always wondered if dermablaning was any better than a typical razor...sounds like there really isnt' much of a difference. I had ordered some of those tinkle razors and they scared me. Also, I love that you mentioned cutting those tubs open to get the last of the product. I am amazed how much product I can scrape out of those tubs. Thanks for all your helpful information.

Do you think using glycolic acid after shaving would work also? I heard an esthetician recently say that tweezing those pesky thick chin and neck hairs can cause folliculitis....geez~ I never knew that was my problem. Thx
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, no I would NOT use glycolic after shaving with a razor. It would be too irritating and since we've already exfoliated with the razor, glycolic would be a double exfoliant and too intense on freshly shaved skin. If you use the Flawless shaver, then glycolic would be fine but not when using a regular razor. Yes plucking "could" also cause folliculitis so that's why it's super important that I follow this skincare routine when I shave. Hope that helps.

Hi, Sheri! Great video, as always! Regarding the Paulas Choice BHA, I got it one time on your recommendation and others, regarding the pores! So, do you feel it really makes a difference when used daily??
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, not necessarily for the pore size unless you have blackheads. If there are blackheads, then the BHA clears that out over time. But when used with Niacinamide, the pores stay clean and the Niacinamide keeps the pore diameter healthy and improves it if is just stretched out from sun damage, aging etc. But it can take months to years before you really see results. Now if you used pore strips, you may have caused permanent damage to the pore so may not see great results or may take a very long time to fix it. (Pore strips ruin the diameter of the pore). I saw no results with Niacinamide and my pores till I was on my 3rd bottle...and that was nearly 6-8 months later. So the products really work...but just takes time. I prefer instant results. haha!🤪 But that doesn't often happen with most skincare. And daily SPF is a must. Hope that helps.
@lisaswords15824 жыл бұрын
@@GracefulBeautyWithSheri Thank you! I tried The Ordinary Niacinamide and it didn’t go well. This was my first time using Niacinamide. So, you feel the Paulas Choice in both of these are effective and work the best together. I don’t necessarily have blackheads as much as pores!

@@lisaswords1582 Yes I LOVE the PC ones. I don't love TO brand. I "like" a couple of their products but it's definitely not my go to brand, Price is great but I'm not that impressed with the results. Absolutely, if you already own the CeraVe pm that is a great one and Vanicream has a new one that's really nice and calming...and affordable. Whatever works best for you..just not one with glycolic acid or a treatment lotion with strong acids...you just want a gentle moisturizer with good ingredients for the skin barrier. 😘

Ok Sheri, I have shaved my face!!! Think I missed a bit of the peach fuzz, will get it later. Thank you, 🙏 I’ve got a question for you, I woke up this morning to 2new red/ ?age spots on the bridge of my nose( I already had one from tanning) I was shocked. I’m using vitamin C serum, niacinamide, essences. Avene; Mad Hippie, snail mucin, retinoids; not in that order, I’m so confused as I’ve watched and re watched your skin care routines and as a beginner, what do u suggest that I add into my routine? I have deep frown wrinkles and getting smiley wrinkles , I can only purchase a few at a time. My skin is dull. Not as bad as it was. I’m getting discouraged as one day my skin looks so much better, then like today, it’s horrible. I’ve been trying the Australian Gold tinted sunscreen. But it’s really drying. I’ve ordered the drmtlgy tinted but not here yet. And want to order a few more serums. What do you suggest?
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri2 жыл бұрын
Yay you shaved. How does it look? Well my advice is don't add anything else new. I would simplify the routine and just cleanse, moisturize and SPF during the day and then at night double cleanse, gentle retinol & moisturize and that's it for at least a month. Except once a week on a night you aren't using a retinol, add in an exfoliator right after you cleanse. I would suggest a mandelic acid or a lactic acid for the exfoliator. What cleanser are you using and how are you cleansing at night and with what products? Send me your reply in a brand new comment if you can because I may not see it if you reply to this comment. But KZbin will notify me of a brand new comment. I would also make an appt with a Dermatologist and have your skin checked and those red spots to be safe. And yes Australian Gold SPF is even drying on me and I have more normal to oily skin. It also doesn't have a high enough protection IMO. Yes it "says" SPF 50 but I. doubt it really is. The zinc oxide amount is way too low. So I'd rather be safe than sorry so I now use SPF with a higher Zinc oxide amount (usually at least 7% or higher) I think you will really like the DRMTLGY SPF.
