That was a great story about Elvis and about his slot car track. I had heard that Evils got bored with things and moved on, lol ! A great story about the Beatles as well. Boys and their toys, lol ! A shame no one knows what happened to his slot car track and cars. They definitely would be a addition to the Tiger Man Dojo Museum Mr. Spa Guy. We also had slot cars and carrying cases in the 60s and extra tires and tools to work on our cars. It was a big deal back then that just went away....

Had a slot car track when I was a kid. It was before I started elementary school. I remember the cars I had was a gold cougar A white cobra and a I believe a mustang. Never could get the trac to work right. Wish I had it today!!!! TCB FOREVER

The road I live on is called Frog Ocean Rd. We actually have a slot car track at the end of my road that an older couple have had for 40-50 years or more. It is called the Frog Ocean Speedway. The track looks very similar to the one Elvis had and is in the basement of the couple. My brother used to have a slot car and a wooden box my Dad made for him to keep his car and equipment. My daughter as well started racing when she was little. They would start the season in January and end in April with a banquet at the church here in town. Watching this video brought it all back. I think the track is still used but not sure how many people go there. Love this thank you!!

Amazing Elvis History Video!!! I have been wondering what the big Elvis track looked like for years! I believe Marty wrote in his book the reason Elvis tired of slot cars was because the competition between all of the guys grew to be too intense causing conflict within the group and irritating Elvis so that all the fun was sucked out of the hobby. If you cannot find the Elvis track, I would love to play the same model as the one Priscilla gifted to him. Keep up the great work!!!

When I was growing up, me and my two brothers and our friends would race each other for hours on end. Christmas was really fun, cause we always got new slot cars and more track to add to the layout

Fantastic video Billy!! Brought back alot of memories. I had my little collection of slot cars back in '65-66 and there was a slot car place like the Robert E. Lee Raceway in my hometown called Race-A-Rama. We all use to go down there on Sat morning for the big championship race and one time I won it with my Lotus. All my cars are gone now but I still have my '64 Vette body I use to race but the bottom part frame and the motor are gone. That was over 50 years ago but feels like it happened yesterday. Thank you for bringing back happy memories!!

Many years ago, 20-30years, I saw a article in a British newspaper about The track being removed from Graceland and Elvis's cars being auctioned off. He had several COX slot cars including a Cheeta and Lotus 30. In the mid 60's Cox were the highest quality models for a short time. I slot raced then and still do.

Nice info SG. We too were into slots cars big time. The closest 'big town' to were we lived in 'Farmville',, had two slot cars tracks. One was a full 'hobby shop', with track,and the second was in a building about identical size building at the Robert E Lee track,in this video. During the winter months we lived here on Saturdays,, and rented a 'lane' by the hour.You 'cheated' by putting wintergreen on the tires,,made them like gum! Thanks for the cool EP backstory.

Great video, hope you find out what happened to Elvis’s slot cars and track….that’d be so cool to have it set up and interact with it. I think you were correct, most likely Circle G Ranch consumed most of his time….and slot cars weren’t used much after that. Plus after Priscilla and Elvis married, she always preferred living in California, and with him doing all the movies, makes sense that they wouldn’t be using the Ranch or the slot cars much. Wonder what occupied his free time in California, besides parties and such ?

Another interesting fact about that strip mall. Almost exactly 1 yr after Elvis died in Aug of 78 that area of Whitehaven got hit by a tornado. The Wendy's across the street got demolished and was just recently open for business before it got hit. A Pizza Hut and some other businesses were also demolished along EP blvd.

As always great job Billy 👏. Did you notice the black and white "checkered flag" floor as you looked through the windows of the store front?? I don't know if it's original but sure is a coincidence 🤔. Elvis might have walked on those exact tiles. Looking forward to experiencing Memphis in January through your camera as I have hit old age and can't get around like I used to. I've been to Graceland 4 times in my life the last visit was in 1999. US history, as I checked the name ''Robert E. Lee'' stated that only 3 of those given honor for commemorative postal stamps, who did not become US president are: Elvis, Martin Luther King and Robert E. Lee.
