Elvis’s Prescription Drug Use • Some reports suggest that Red, Sonny, and Dave had tried to intervene in Elvis’s worsening prescription drug abuse. • Their attempts to help may have angered Vernon or Elvis, contributing to their dismissal. 4. Tension Within the Group • After years of loyalty, some bodyguards felt underappreciated, and conflicts had developed within the inner circle. Aftermath: • Feeling betrayed, Red and Sonny West, along with Dave Hebler, wrote the book Elvis: What Happened?, published just two weeks before Elvis’s death in August 1977. • The book exposed Elvis’s prescription drug addiction, which shocked many fans. • Elvis was reportedly devastated by the book’s publication. Did Elvis Personally Fire Them? While the official decision was made by Vernon Presley, it’s unclear how much input Elvis had. Some reports claim he was reluctant to let them go but did not stop it from happening.

I love Chuck Norris. In fact, I take his morning kick every morning. It's been a game-changer. I wish Mr. Norris remembered the details on Elvis, I'm almost positive he went to a concert in the 70s. I know Mr. Norris and Elvis had some of the same friends or at least knew some of the same people. I would be interested in knowing what kind of impact Mr. Norris might have had on Elvis. Spa guy don't forget Joe Lewis he lived outside Raleigh and was friends with Chuck, Bruce, and Elvis. He passed a few years ago and alot of famous guys showed for the funeral. Joe was a nice fellow may he rest in peace.
