Graco Magnum airless paint sprayer test ( painting the mezzanine ceiling black )

tried out a budget friendly paint sprayer to paint the ceiling of the mezzinene . I bought the Graco Magnum project painter plus an airless paint sprayer from Homedepot . I also picked up the 20" tip extension . at the time I purchased, I think the sprayer was around $240, and the extension was $45 and looking today the sprayer is now $223. Do I think it was worth it for this project? absolutely! it worked as it should and turned a tedious project that would have taken me days to paint with a brush and roller and let me paint it in under 3 hours including setup and cleanup

Sorry for the louder music volume. I didn't realize the radio in the shop was as loud as it was and was trying to mask the radio, so I didn't get a copyright . Thanks I appreciate it ! The steel and Insulation package from maverick steel buildings was 43k a little over a year ago . But after permits and ground work , concrete, the loft , all electrical, finishing the interior walls (bottom 8' ) garage door , mini splits , equipment rentals , I'm right around 132k now and I'm about 95% done I still need lights and drywall for the office and to finish the bathroom and connect it to the house water and septic. I need to sit down and find more accurate prices on everything I spent and make a what it cost video but I didn't do a very good job keeping track of some things because I was paying cash for some things to get a better price 😅

Yeah It was a little messier than I was expecting but some of that could have been from me not setting the psi right or maybe a smaller tip . Thanks again!

You needed to move the small hose to the paint also after it’s primed. It recycles the paint. You wasted A LOT of extra paint

Yeah probably so , but I wasn't sure if I wanted to chance putting more water back in the paint and thinning it more but it worked out I bought 5 gallons and used 4 so I still had one to cut in the edges and paint my handrails upstairs and have some leftover for future touch up . But thanks for the info. I'll probably do that the next time I use it and see !

Looks good!!! I have a Graco airless sprayer and I and guys from church who have borrowed it from me have sprayed hundreds of gallons of paint through it. They are good machines. I don't ever recall it having as much overspray as it seems you were having. I always kept the pressure fairly low and the nozzle small. I don't recall what size I used but it was tiny. To my way of thinking, it made the paint droplets small and would hit the wall hard and not fly off into the air. I am not a painter, but it seemed to work for me. I diluted the paint with water also. They say not to in the instructions, but I got better results when I did...

Yeah, I probably should have dialed the psi down just a bit more and am not sure what size spray tip it came with, but yeah, it seemed to spray way heavier than the ones I used years ago I think another thing that would have helped me more would have been a 30" extension instead of the 20" . The video makes the paint on the plastic look way worse than it was, but yeah, it was still more that I was used to and expecting. Thanks again for the comment and watching!

Ain't that the truth ! I spent more time setting up and cleaning up but the finish was nicer and done in one coat and probably a quarter of the time if I had brushed and rolled the whole thing. Thanks for watching!
