I was warned by Sherwin Williams not to spray silicone products through a airless unless it's dedicated to it. So can you clean out a silicone product from a airless? He said it would make latex paint peel. I would think every product has a cleaning solution recommend? Is cool seal a problem or other white elastomeric roof coatings.

Usually mineral spirits is whats used on most silicones that ive used to clean the sprayer with but i did use one many years ago that required xylene so your best to check with the manufacturer of the product. The reason they tell you to have a dedicated pump just for silicone including hose is moisture causes silicone to start curing and if you use one sprayer for elastomeric and silicone you need to use a different hose and lower because the lining of the hose and even the pump absord water and the silicone can start drying in the hose and pump. Its happened to me i removed the filter on my pump and it was full of lumps of silicone because i did not know many years ago it had to be used only for silicone.

@@jaymiller5407 trust me from experience, unless you are willing to invest 75 k into this system , it's not worth it. Greco and Henry's both signed off on the smaller of the 2 machine's and gave us the go ahead to install it on 2000 square of epdm. We had issues with this set up from day 1. It's a ton of prep and clean up time. If your serious about doin this type of product I recommend going to a Gaco rep. They are far superior to Henry's. My company ended up putting another EPDM roof over the existing. It's a warehouse that's coming down in 5 years. This system cost my business just shy of 100 k. Got any questions just ask..
