one point to always remind us of decolonizing research methodologies is to understand first our colonizing experience. This is actually the premise of how we can go through with decolonization. If we are denied of our own history, of our own colonial experience, where do we get our knowledge of decolonizing? Hence, Linda has kept on mentioning understanding imperialism and things associated to the colonial experience.

At this point in time for me, it's wondering "Where to, from here?" what do we do with the information/conclusions that we come to after absorbing and integrating decolonized methodologies. It's a personal journey I often find myself reflecting back on and so have concluded that nature vs nurture, the whanau we are borne into vs the environment we grew up in, are so deeply intertwined that it matters not when you compare it to your whanau of choice and environment of choice, today. Self assurance, Self acceptance and Self awareness, not in any order, are the 3 Selfs we should be concerned about when decolonizing ourselves and our mindsets. And with that, where to from here?...

KZbin captioned Tuck's use of an Indigenous language as a "foreign language" in a presentation on decolonization. Do better KZbin.

This is actually how deep conolisim is world wide ... it actually brings back memories of being Black in Academia where university structures do not allow you to research your own people and deem everything that ones does unacademic. Being a POC is hard in all aspects of life .. am doing my Masters and am seeing it as he explains it.

Indigenous rights, methods and voices are substantial to securing rights as we travel into space. Maritime law and space law need the indigenous perspective, not colonial. Reconciliation for rights of our biosphere and others.

Well, I find this very odd that this 'postmodernist' woman is such an enthusiast for indigenous patriarchal power structures. Does she really prefer a Marae where she is not welcome to voice her opinions to a University where she is?
