These Sets did come 6 Sets per Case, also the 1987 Topps Tiffany Sets DID NOT Come in Shrink Wrap. 1984 through 1988 and 1990 Did NOT Come Shrunk Wrapped from the Factory. They were only Sealed by the Sticker. Once an Authentic Sticker is removed it will never adhere back to the box again correctly. The edges will always curl up if it's been opened/tampered with. Always throughly inspect the Sticker Seal to make sure there's no creases or bends on the Sticker and make sure it lays flat with No lifting on the edges. The only Year that came in Shrink Wrap was the 1991 Topps Tiffany and the 1991 Topps Traded Tiffany Sets. If you See a Shrunk Wrapped Topps Tiffany Set from 1984 thru 1988 and 1990 Do Not Buy them. That's a huge Red Flag when Buying Topps Tiffany Sets. The 1989 Topps Tiffany Sets and the 1989 and 1990 Bowman Tiffany Sets came Sealed in Cellophane Wrap. If you see one of these 3 Sets and in Shrink Wrap 99% of the time the Stars and Rookies will be missing.

Man, that's really downright cold! Thanks for the warning, you know I'm into factory sets and that's scary to me. Now I'm afraid I need to open mine. But , mine are definately factory sealed. Your seals didnt look right. Mine are not seamed at all. If you see a seam in the plastic, it's been opened. I got ripped on a mini set once. Every Star card in the set was miscut or off centered. Obviously tampered with. I reported them , they disappeared off Ebay. Ebay wouldn't help. So be careful! If it's too good to be true it almost always is. Another is the bait and switch routine. I've been buying up certain raw RCs. Bought a lot of 5 which shown to be perfectly centered. When I got them they were all 70 /30 examples. I go back to the dealer and they magically disappeared again! That time I explained what happened and showed the video to Ebay and they refunded me and booted the dealer. I dont know what to do in your case. I would stick to reputable sellers that cant afford bad feedback or always check thier feedback listings. Alot of time you'll get warnings from other buyers. People are really shady, especially when it comes to cards I'm finding out. Even Topps can sell garbage and get away with it. Probably 40% of the sets put out were not worth the investment. I laugh at the guys who spend 4 to 5 thousand on a box and they get a Jansen,Keller, Beeks, and Briceno rookie autos. Probably 25.00 worth of cards. Sure , other guys pulled a Mike Trout, or a Ted Williams, but even that was not worth what they paid for the case. Stick to what you know is good. Let the whales blow thier money on that. I stock up on what players I believe to be a sure thing. But there is always a risk. That's why I buy CHEAP! I know newer ones were cello wrapped I'm not sure about 87 , seems they should be. But I dont know. I've got factory sealed sets from 1990 all the way up to now , missing a couple years here and there. All are sealed from the factory. Not like that though! I'm not sure about 80s. These were bought retail. Some may be different. I've seen different boxes from same years too. Colors different, extras are different too in some. Only way to know for sure is to contact Topps. They have a history of all thier issues and...mistakes too!

Shrink wrap is absolutely NOT a giveaway. A lot of shops and collectors used to shrink wrap sets and wax boxes etc back in the day, especially if there was a slight idea to store it for even a little bit of time. I know this because not only did I know many people who did this, me and several of the people I partnered with did it. It was cheap Protected cards very well for something that wasn't going to be handled And easy to remove without damaging if need be. Not only wo6ld I think this wouldn't be a "tell". But anybody clever enough to commit fraud in these ways as well as for items with this value are damn well going to research. It's like drugs, God knows how many people have had it before you. And I'd bet, it was probably shrink wrapped by somebody who was just a buyer and did so protecting his investment. The fraud could've been committed in say, 2004, gone through 6 people AFTER that, (all thinking they had "real"), but it was guy #2 who shrinkked it.

We bought 2 complete sets of, 1987 Topps factory sealed boxes from, Bidville about 16 yrs ago, only opening 1 box that is loaded, including the, Barry Bonds #320 error card. In fact we bought a lot of card sets from them, and never was there a problem in our purchases, nor a bad report about them, to my knowledge. They went out of business a while ago, why? I don't know for sure, but it was said there was too much competition in the market. But wow I wish they would reconsider, and come back especially since the market has been tainted with dishonesty. I think we'll just stick with buying from obscure sellers, who are like they were, when we find them. I love your video's and im sorry you got screwed over. the other thing most people can do is get any 792 card topps set and weight it. all the sets from 1984-they started doing 2 series they have 792 cards so they will weigh close to the same every year. good luck all and happy collecting. the Fleer Glossy in the tins were wrapped in plastic we had the 1987 fleer glossy and update tins. but I have nothing left from those days, I have always been the person that loves to open packs and my luck has always been on point. but id never keep anything, sometimes I kick myself I had 10 86-87 Jordan rookies I bought at shinders for 2.95 each

I would weigh the other sets to see if they are missing cards as well. You weigh the one you just opened and compare it the others. It will be off by several grams. You may just be dealing with one tampered box.

The other 3 boxes all have shrink wrap as well and pink seals just like the one I opened. Also, when I move the boxes around, I can hear the cards moving 👎 weighing them is a good idea but I'm fairly positive they all been searched.

Hey PSA Collector, first off, sorry to see that you got sold some tampered sets. Hopefully it all works out for you and someone is held responsible in the end. Very recently I purchased a 1989 Upper Deck Baseball complete set on eBay. I'm waiting for it to arrive, which should be within a few days. I'm glad I came across your video because I am going to record the opening of the box, from delivery package to the cards themselves. Here's a question and hopefully you can advise: I'm thinking of sending the seller a message through eBay BEFORE I open the box and asking them if there's anything I should know about the box or if there has been any type of tampering with it, that they should let me know before I open it. I'm planning on letting them know that I am going to record every step of opening of the box and that if there's any findings tampering, resealing, or altering, that I am going to file a claim and expose them. FYI, I paid just a bit over $100 for the complete set. Do you think that's a good approach? Sorry for the long message, but I hope to get your feedback on this. Thanks in advance.
@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I would just wait to get the sealed set and see if it looks tampered with. I haven't ever bought that set or looked into it at all so I'm not sure what you should look for as far as being authentic or not. The best thing to do is record you opening it just in case it's missing a card.
@hipolitomadero30094 жыл бұрын
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR I got the set in the mail. I went ahead and recorded a video of the opening of the package and then the box. It all looked legit. I understand the condition, but if you have a unsealed 1989 Donruss set wouldnt the Ken Griffey Rookie be in mint condition PSA 10? Correction 70,000+ cards in my collection, maybe more.
@tyreesneed3 жыл бұрын
because 95% of the cards have flaws. even the sealed sets and sealed never opened packs. in order for that card to be worth and sell for 2,500 it has to be graded a 10 from PSA. and that means the card has to have NO surface issues, NO white on corners or edges, and has to be PERFECTLY CENTERED TOP BOTTOM LEFT RIGHT and 95% of the cards are NEVER perfectly centered. so the odds of that card being PERFECT even if the box is a fresh set or fresh pack thats never been opened or touched are like 1 in a million lol ... I used to wonder this too until I figured all this out. I used to say all the time "why are all these sellers selling full factory sets from 1985,1986,1987,1988,1989 etc for 25 or 50 bucks when theres 10 cards in there all worth 500 too 1,000 or more????
