Back in the 90s when we got 24 to 36 cards per pack all the money and technology was put into the baseboards with a few inserts but now upper deck is expected to put 10 or 12 different technologies within the box and the card stock is thicker for many of the sets. And they’re trying to make more money. The cheaper boxes you can get closer to 16 packs but you will rarely find 24 to 36 packs in a box

Great break! The Matter inserts were my favorite. Kind of reminded me of the inserts from Marvel Masterpiece series 2 with the multi-color foil. Instead of single color foil like on PMGs and the Psylocke you just pulled.

Pay attention to higher numbered base set cards. Those are shorter printed and some of the more popular characters

For the most part … the safest return on investment is sealed boxes for marvel cards. You have to get lucky and hit a special card or grind your way through the box and get PSA 10s.
