I would like to make a note at 5:25. The line of the right is the steepest and the middle is the least steep as 2 > 1 > 1/4. For a positive slope, the greater the gradient number, the steeper the slope. On the other hand, the gradient of a slope can also be expressed as 1 : n format. So the gradient of the left line is 1 : 1, the middle one is 1 : 4 and the right one is 1 : 0.5. The value n is the reciprocal of the gradient number. So it is the opposite. The smaller the n value, the steeper the slope.

Theres a small mistake in the vid, at 6:30, the gradient would be -3/2 not 3/-2 The actual formula for the gradient is m = y2 - y1 / x2 - 1 where x1/2 and y1/2 are the coords of the 2 points. If the top left point is (5,5), then other point would be (7,2). so hte gradient would be: 2-5 / 7-5 = -3 / 2 I know the end result would give negative 3 over 2, but if it was a test, and you put the gradient as 3/-2 in the working out, you'd loose marks.

@1ajajajaj no :) but you have to pick 2 points along the line. in physics the further away the points the better.
