How to Calculate Slopes and Gradients

Hi, If I have a site audit to conduct and I know the slope LENGTH, and the RISE, [not the run] of a pathway for example, how do i calculate the gradient ? 1:??

isn't slope calculated in terms of 360*/4 =90* and not times 100?

i think is rise over run thats what google says.
