Sometimes people mistaken me for an extrovert, because I can charm people. But I only do that like once a month, and I rarely leave the house for the rest of the month.

I can't even talk half of the time I am so mumbly. It's nice to know that there is an explanation for it. I also feel bad for others now that I know that they don't have an inner world like myself

This is a problem that I’m having, I’m comparing myself to the people that I know. But I think the ones that I know the best might be extreme, so that’s throwing me off.

myers-briggs grades on a curve too. we just don't know how introverted you need to be to be an INTJ. We actually just don't know how to measure personality. Nor are we able to validate the myers-briggs hypothesis. it's probably important to understand myers-briggs is not scientifically verifiable yet. it does have a point though. myers-briggs is what a personality test should be. it tries to explain character growth. the bigfive just tests for actualized, abstract character traits. it let's other people know around-about how to treat you although your bigfive personality fluxuates a lot over time. it also informs you of character weaknesses. it's not about going into the light or anything. it's just about understanding what these structures are, what they're meant to do, how they're limited. it's not as if the bigfive is revolutionary. it's just another personality test.

EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE!!!
@zvonkofonko26736 жыл бұрын
But what is objective? If you say "the sky is blue", ok(if we disregard shades, tints etc), but is it? Is it blue for bulls, doves, dolphins, dogs etc? While I'd (really) like for TRULY OBJECTIVE things to exist, I'm rather unsure whether they even exist. So, yeah, everything is subjective.
@themettatronus30286 жыл бұрын
Zvonko Fonko Objective, for us really, is moreso synonymous with "the collective consensus". If you can accurately and repeatedly verify the data across a majority of peeps; it can be considered, for the time being, objective. Subjectivity is intermingled but there's still a distinction one has to make, as relativity doesn't just void the credibility of our supposed "objective lens". It's still a functionality that exists, just one we've come to misunderstand and identify with a pov outside of the human subjective conscious experience; which really isn't useful or relevant.

There is a consistant pattern of a recurring theme in Dave's videos: "You are not who you think you are" + "you are problably not right". If you believe you're a male, he problably has an "objective" and 'scientific" theory ready (that he made up) that there's 50+ % chance you are WRONG and not a male, but somehow confused or just stereotyping yourself because you just saw the signs that you had a penis and a beard. Also these are these consistant *assumptions about EVERYBODY* are just thrown in there. "EVERYBODY does this", "EVERYBODY does that", like we somehow are all exactly alike in all of these things he says about people In this video he says for example: "You have this weird view about yourself, everybody does it, it's human nature, you can not not do it". - He just assumes everyone has a weird idea about themselves. Even if 1 person does not have a weird idea themself, it would already disprove his claim that everybody does it - He just assumes it's impossible not to have a weird idea about yourself as he claims "it's human nature - you can not not do it". Then he goes on to show us a picture of a Te dominant thinking they're a Fi dominant, as if it would be the most logical thing mistake yourself for the exact opposite of what you really are. It's like assuming to think everyone who is straight problably is gay but confused, and everyone who's straight problably thinks they're somehow straight. It just assumes it's the most logical to be exactly wrong. It's like assuming when you try to shoot a ball, most chances are you're going to shoot it in the excact opposite direction you were trying to shoot in. This is the sort of logic we're dealing with here..

What about those of us that are truly in the middle between extroversion and introversion? How do we type ourselves then? Doesn’t ambivert need to be part of the equation?

I had a recent experience, where I was talking to a friend of mine, and saying that I couldn't tell if I was an extrovert or an introvert, and he instantly said "You're an Introvert." Which confused me, until he explained it, and I thought it made a lot of sense. See, the one common thread I'm always hearing from friends and family the most, is that I'm stubborn. I can argue with a lot of people over if something doesn't make sense, not to me, but objectively, and if it isn't objective, I'll argue that it's flimsy and can't hold up, until there is an actual reason.
@originalsinquirls12056 жыл бұрын
objectivity is relative.
@Vice_Verse06 жыл бұрын
That's not an attitude that helps a person improve and grow. Thats the personality of someone fighting a flow and accepting their own lies.
@originalsinquirls12056 жыл бұрын
you said you're arguing with people over what is objective and not objective. but like. are you trying to tell me you can accurately determine what is the most objective line in heated conversation with your peers? because that'd be pretty depressing right? if they weren't challenging you to even that degree.
@originalsinquirls12056 жыл бұрын
point is it's good to challenge your beliefs more often. be more open to new information.
@Vice_Verse06 жыл бұрын
Oh no. I argue based on objectivity, what works best and most effectively, I shouldn't be able to poke holes in that kind of logic. When I say objectively, I mean the logic shouldn't have to do with what you feel or think personally should be done, because that's a bit lofty. There's no real backing to it. A lot of people don't work this way, they're not able to keep themselves out of an issue. I'm very rarely heated in a conversation with my peers. I tend to believe every moment is an opportunity to learn more. It's not really depressing, just it consistently confuses me, because this subjective reasoning people use tends to sound like alien-space logic to me, which makes sense, because it's not meant to be fully backed. It's their inner points of identity, it makes more sense to them. Not really to me. Objectivity seems to be more understood by all. Talking about a movie, and saying "This movie is bad because it's boring." about something is strange to me, because boring isn't an effective measurement, it's a constantly changing variable that differs from person to person. Saying, "This is bad because it ruins the structure of the story, and the movie's flow has been completely disrupted," and using the movie's internal logic to show exactly what you're talking about is a pretty firm solid case, and quite objective. One of these two has less shakier ground than the other. Showing evidence to prove a claim is quite objective.

I really dont see the value in knowing how introverted/extroverted I am compared to my friends, neither how feeling or thinking or whatever. I hang around with friends because I want to forget that stuff and just have fun, enjoy company, do cool shit etc. For me, the value of actually having friends is to forget all about that comparison shit. Doesn't mean we don't have deep, engaging and reflective discussions, but the constant personal comparisons is just... blegh.

in another video of yours, you're explaining that you don't agree with the Extrovert-Introvert spectrum being a good tool, and you don't like the term Ambivert, because the E/I only describes the nature of the functions. i know OCEAN is different, but what are your thoughts on the spectrum, really? what am i missing?
@tbg60706 жыл бұрын
But how can you allude to the belief that objectivity, at least when it comes to how extroverted or introverted you are, depends on what the "tribe" thinks, when concepts of I and E depend on culture? Some people swear I'm an introvert; others, after getting to know me extensively can't believe they thought of me as an introvert. Still, the majority of people see me as one (Introvert)-would even go as far as to say I'm shy. But the truth, which I see as independent of external influence (or opinion) is that I'm an extrovert. I might not be the most stereotypically social person, but I get depressed having to linger with my own thought _if_ they are not supplied by any sort of external stimuli in the form of a book, or a song, or people-watching. Sometimes, I even think of myself as a sensory demon.

Extravertism...that word DOES NOT EXIST! It's simply "Extraversion" or "Extraversion scale". Damn, son! Regardless of petty(if important!) things, you're completely right about the scales. But sometimes you have to understand what those scales even are(if it says, 60% Extraverted, it means that OF THOSE EXACT 1000 people, you are slightly above average ; meaning that if you test next to old British people, you might end up as a hyper Extravert and vice versa for college fraternity / maternity type of things / people). Regardless, the following question presents itself then(two actually): 1. How accurate is this result / against what am I being measured? 2. Do the functions even exist / what's their basis if talking about the facts / graphs etc? But without this graph and this type of thinking, you've got nothing. You've got more nerdy version of Astrology. Nothing more, nothing less. And that's exactly why it needs empirical testing. To see whether it is something or nothing and if something, to see what's what.

Cliven Longsight Give us the mountains of evidence for why Trump must be so amazingly dumb. Yea, seriously. I might read it if I don't forget I commented this. He actually uses very clever but simple persuasion techniques... As you commented this you sounded very desperate to protect your own ego, how's it going. Try to look into some evidence for how Trump COULD(possibly) be smart. I mean, if you haven't done that yet. I'd recommend you'd start with Charlie Houperts (Charisma on Command on KZbin) videos on Trump. He's a Ti type so maybe you might be a little more open to the arguments he's suggesting? He's actually most likely an ENTP. As he's said so himself, and seem quite a bit like that. Ti types are great, especially ENTPs right? Great! Maybe it'll recontextualize your whole perspective on JP. Or maybe not. Well it will, but you might not go all the way over to the other side of the spectrum
