Long time fan of “Reflections of a Grady Doctor”!!! So love this lady ❤❤❤ Back when blogging was a thing I was a subscriber to her blog and her stories of the Grady folks always made my heart happy. Her mission to treat "the least" with respect and honor is something that I wish every doctor would display in their practice.

Hey Dr. Glaucomflecken, I was just watching your video on Mr beast and cataract surgery and blue light glasses. You mentioned circadian rhythms. I thought I would chime in to mention that blue light glasses can also be helpful in preventing and treating hypomanic/manic episodes in bipolar disorder. Bipolar really messes with circadian rhythms, and off-balanced circadian rhythms contribute to symptoms in a cyclical process. It's definitely not a good solo therapy (meds are best) but it's helpful for some people. Conversely, and expectedly -- anti depressive lamps are good for depressive episodes. Light plays a major factor for some people with bipolar, and seasonal changes can muck things up as you would expect. I thought it might be worth sharing.

I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed this guest. There isn't one guest I did not enjoy, but Dr. Manning was so witty, so quick with her tongue and for me as a non-native speaker she was SO easy to understand - edit, I mean she was SO to the point in her answers without loosing personality. Loved the game, the kind of humor. But really - all of your guests are obviously wicked smart, but she seemed yet on a different level - and very approachable, down to earth, great humor. Thanks a lot. And I also would love to hear from other hospital specialists like the pharmacist - or translator, social worker, nurses. thank you for this wonderful podcast.

Yes! Thank you for that story and the patient's lesson of talk when it's time to talk, and listen when it's time to listen. Sometimes being a good listener is something someone has to learn ... it's not easy! I grew up with a lot of talk over each other kind of environment and go on your own diatribe just tunnel vision say what you want to think , not having a proper give and take and listen and pause and respond in an orderly fashion... Like a road full of cars with no stop lights, no stop signs , no slow down signs . Chaotic and dangerous is the result! yes can take practice and self-control to listen. It's a skill to practice and it can be hard , but such an important skill

You know... when we only get to see our docs once or twice a year - we do have sometimes need more than one thing to be addressed - the pressure you are to churn patients - and I get it - but us patients need a way to have longer time. I have even suggested to let me have a double time appointment and have been refused. Even when I am willing to pay out of pocket. Causes so much anxiety - on both sides I am sure. How about docs that leave the room without saying goodbye and you think they will be coming back in a minute.

Dr G. As per my view you may not be able to interview a neurosurgeon. He will say "*I have better things to do have done 100 surgeries last week and 100 more to go*.😂😂 just kidding.

About social media stuff : - well, surprise, now she's on instagram, as threads "accounts" are instagram accounts for now - I won't defend twitter, but they still have that option (that regularly reverse to the default…) to actually get your own feed instead of "the algorithm" ones. Makes it more tolerable. At this point it's likely I'm not the first to point that out though. Another interesting thing; for a few days now, there's a disclaimer under all the videos here with the precision that the video are published by a doctor in the US, which is interesting. It wasn't there before.

most people on threads were brought over automatically from instagram - which I am not on. So being a twitter user, can't really say I like it better. But... I can figure out why you like threads better. Maybe would have been better to leave that alone.
