Excellent review. I recently retired and have had an interest in metal detecting for some time. My knowledge is very minimal and the F22 has always sparked my interest After watching your very thorough review. I made the purchase along with a Garmin Pro II pinpointer. Thank you for your assistance.

An excellent review of an excellent metal detector which 'ticks the boxes'. As an entry level machine the 22 lacks for nothing, in fact it scorns many 'step up' machines that can't handle our rainy months..( No wonder the Romans called Britain the Grey Isle.) I'd break laughing if I saw people leaving a field in the rain, whilst the 22 owner carried on swinging merrily. Happy Days!

Thank you so much for the thorough review and use of the Fisher F22. I'm hoping to take my "maiden voyage" with the one I received this past Christmas. (Some extensive back surgery a few days before Christmas has delayed using it.) I have watched several of your videos and numerous other detectorists during my recuperation and am now about ready to try it out. Again, thank you for the in depth explanations on programming the F22. Your video has given me great information that cannot be gained by any book of instructions. I look forward to your next field videos as the world health improves. Best Wishes ... Patti Vosburgh Tacoma, Washington USA

Hi Graeme just got one of these from you, superfast delivery, thank you, getting used to the detector, certainly goes deeper than my old one, funny thing though, in coin mode it wont pick up a bronze Roman, picks it up in jewellery ok, I guess its because they have no Roman coins in the USA !
@unearthed-detecting-tv5 жыл бұрын
Yes certain things will be notched out in the coin mode, artefact mode seems to be the best out of them all or customise it! Good luck, they are a great detector!!

Hi Graham, now I have got used to the detector I have found in coin mode you can notch in number four, and that picks up the bronze Romans !

I just bought a used F22. So far it's pretty impressive. I like it. The light weight and easy operation is nice compared to my ole analog machines. I am definitely going to get me that 11 inch double D coil , mine has the standard 9 incher. I'm sure , from watching you , that 11 inch will make a difference.

A great and a very professional review on a interesting machine Graham , Ahh the fishers when they first came out in the eighties , Joan Allens was a great source for buying machines on credit and probably the first to do this I think . So of course I indulged and bought the 1260 which was about 35 pounds a month over x amount of years .This was followed by the 1266x which I was still using of and on right up till minilab introduced the explorer , which I used for a number of years . At the time of acquiring the 1260 I was using the Arado and in comparison to previous machines on the market over the years , the cranked stem gold shafted fisher felt like something out of the space age lol. A couple of years ago I bought a second hand 1260 out of shear nostalgia , but sadly it was a little disappointing compared to the fast recovery machines we have today ,but when it did hit a target it was loud and crisp, I sold it a little later to a newby to the hobby . Just to add I had one of my best finds ever with the 1260 which was a gold Saxon pendant which I received a finders fee from Norwich museum where it ended up , all long before PAS. , Yep the fisher stable has a real pedigree I must agree .

Very helpful video. After the damaging my 6 year-old £125 Tecnetiks Eurotek and your recommendation of this being a suitable alternative to the latest cheaper/dearer Pro/T2 Tecnetics machines I have considered, I am seriously seeing this as a great replacement. Saves the need for a waterproof cover which I find a bit of a nuisance on my GoldMaxx Power unit and the plastic window soon splits, in my experience. Thanks.
