Thank you for your thorough review! I have large hands and I tend to sweat while I am vigorously writing (which is almost everytime I am writing). I cannot use pens that are too thin and it does look as thin as a pencil. I will definitely not be buying this pen now! Thank you so much!

I have an older Guilloche, in Sahara Yellow, with an 18k Broad nib. I enjoy writing with it very much. I can definitely tell it’s a gold nib. My handwriting is on the large side and I tend to doodle and draw in my journal as well. Most larger pens with a steel grip section are not comfortable, but at this size it’s not a problem at all. Beautiful pen. Thanks for giving this pen some attention!

I recently ordered the Classic in EF and waiting for it to arrive, I think it is one of the best looking fountain pens and i believe it will retain its value with time because of its elegance. I hope the EF is as smooth as I expect it to be

The example here is smooth, with some feedback.

I have yet to own a Graf von Faber-Castell pen. Reason being is, the Faber-Castell pens I do own are so well made and perform without issues, not to forget the nibs are top notch. Great video though. I enjoy watching your reviews ....always good quality material.

Great video, thanks, just wondering, why isn’t it a pen that you would write with all the time? You mentioned that it’s just for signature.

I think he meant that the section was too slippery for him. But a signature would be quick.

I never liked fountain pens and never thought I'd use one, much less own one. But my wife gave me a Sahara Yellow Guilloche as a gift and man, I LOVE this pen. Anyway, great vid!

Great review. Could that logo on the cap be acid etched? A common method I believe. I went for the Otto Hutt version of this in the end - It's is much cheaper and though it doesn't have a gold nib it seems better made. I might be wrong. What is very interesting is that this GVFC costs just 30 Euros less than the retail price of the nib in it. Alas, GVFC have just bought Otto Hutt. Thanks - yet again :)

Yeah, could totally be laser etched! You are probably right. Also, yeah, nib prices are a mystery. Think for a lot of the (eg also Diplomat) pen, a gold nib upgrade literally doubles the price of an otherwise steel nib equipped pen. Happy new year!!!

I think the reason I love LAMY and Pilot pens is that these brands represent quality without being pretentious. With Faber-Castell, I do not believe one gets a great increase (the opposite) in functional design. However, I am one who does not like the finger-print magnet of many of the company’s pens. I stand with the quality-for-price bargains of the LAMY pens. When I want a little more pizzas, I tend to the Pelikan brand, equally iconic yet not so pretentious. Of course, this observation is purely personal; others may believe the price-to-aesthetics make it a good choice.

Keith Whitney I fully follow your thinking. As you say, it very much comes down to personal preference.

Thanks for the review. I like the design profile but I'm not sure of the girth; Slim metal section might make it harder to grip comfortably. I haven't tried it so the is just a hunch.

Very accurate hunch, I would say. At least imho.

Why do you not think it's appropriate for heavy writing use, and just for occasional signature or the like?

Thank you for pointing out this pen is thin!

I appreciate the general Design of this pen, but the clip it too fancy/weird for me... and it is also to thin for me :) But I really appreciate the the design of it (except the clip). :)
