What you are calling a Tcherkessia is also known as a coupè too. That's normally what we call crossing over like that and only call rocking forward and back going straight forward and back without crossing a tcherkessia.

Cherkess is an ethnym for Turkic nomads in the south Euxine polst, what we now call Ukraine. Stop appropriating cultures you know nothing about! If you want to learn real traditional dance choreography, I suggest Georgian dance as the most fully-developed folkdance form.

@@Some-person-on-KZbin Many “Observant” groups have mixed dancing. Orthodox Jews do not have women dancing. Fundamentalist Muslims do not have anyone dancing because music and dancing is haram (forbidden) in their theology.

Is this a misappropriated Hasidic choreography? Nothing remotely religious about this stuff. Try learning Balkan and middle eastern group dancing. It’s good exercise.

@@bawtrey Israeli as in standard to Balkan and Mediterranean folk dance repertoire shared broadly among dozens of nations amd not remotely particular to Israel or Judaism. To pretend it’s got anything to do with Christ is pathetic.

@@claesvanoldenphatt9972 To dance is a Hebrew way of worship and rejoicing. I don't see particulars in scripture, regarding if it was ever choreographed. Do you have insight on that? What brought you to this video? I am reading Jeremiah and 31:13 speaks of rejoicing in the dance.

@@cracker3088 if any kind of dance is appropriate, why appropriate modern European Hasidic dance as any more authentic. Hasidim don’t worship Christ as the God of Israel; I’m sure they wouldn’t appreciate this. Now actual Jews, reform, orthodox or messianic dancing Jewish dances presents no problem. But goyim repurposing their dances and saying they represent their faith in Christ will anger some.
