The real story is this, he had gone out drinking with guys from whitesnake and got shitfaced drunk. He hadn't learned all of the words yet so he had them on cheat sheets at the front of the stage. The crowd got so crazy that they pushed the monitors back over the sheets, destroying them. Being drunk and unable to read the words he walked off stage in the middle of the first song. He left and went back to the hotel where he was told the band was pissed and gonna kick his ass for leaving. They had finished the show instrumentally. So he left and flew home only to find out the next day they fired him.

Bonnets the best Rainbow singer I think.Dio's overrated to me,and I listen to plenty of singers,and bands.Dios is good,but many singers can immitate a grindy vocal similar to Dios,and do like the singer from early Astral doors albums does ext.So he's easier to copy,and overall less versatile than Bonnet in my oppinion.
