On a cobweb afternoon In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good, we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to go In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone And on my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone And on I read Until the day was gone And I sat in regret Of all the things I've done For all that I've blessed And all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone

I don’t want much for my birthday today, just want the person reading this to know they are loved. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. Zombiezareus I cried too idk even know why I was not the biggest fan but I did love the songs that I knew. I always respected that Audioslave existed too because I thought it was unfortunate that Rage couldn't continue anymore but the three guys still made something great happen and they chose Chris Cornell as a singer! Amazing choice. They got to showcase a new sound together and I'm sure Chris had a lot influence on the whole thing. Soundgarden was always such a "cool" band to me as a kid. I'm really glad I got to see a show by them in 2010. Just a sad loss overall guess thats why it hit me so hard.

Chester on Chris’ birthday. Coincidence ? I think not.. beautiful individual pray whatever happened he is at peace.

I was at a karaoke celebrating my arrival in L.A. after 71 days wandering on the road across the continent when this song came on. Whoever requested it didn't take the stage, and the song just played. When it came time for the vocals to kick in, the entire audience burst out singing. Until that moment, I thought this song was something I adored but few others knew. Imagine my shock when these voices sprang up all around me. We were almost through the first stanza when the requester rushed back to claim the song. They cut the music and restarted it, but for a few more glorious seconds, we just kept singing. Just a chorus of voices, no music. For once, instead of swimming against the current, I felt in sync with the world. For a moment, the world was moving in my direction, singing my song, and welcoming me to join in. I will forever associate this song with that feeling of being connected to and a part of this world. Thank you, Chris. Your voice was with me through the wilderness, while I was lost in the cities and alone in the hills... and it was there again to welcome me back to civilization. Because of your songs, though I wandered, I did not wander alone.

What this song means to me: I'm a full time single parent of the most beautiful little girl I could have ever wished for. Her mom walked out when she was only a few months old, and it's just been us since then. She is all I have in this world. I never imagined I could love this deep. But I also have a nagging fear in my heart that something will happen and I'll be left alone without her.

On a cob web afternoon, In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages of a book full of death; Reading how we'll die alone. I used to sing my little brother to sleep with this song before we were separated by the foster care system. This song is so meaningful for me. It reminds me of all the times we had, good and bad. Trauma dump rq: I come from an incredibly abusive household. My mother was not mentally able to take care of us. She was too depressed. My Step father was physically, se×ually, and mentally abusive. As the oldest of 4 I was left to raise my siblings. I have one with me, in the same house. The other two, I don't know if I'll ever see them again. My little brother was and is the light of my heart. He keeps me going. This song makes me feel like he is still here. I think what hurts the most is that my little boy is doing so good without me. I miss you buddy. I love you to the moon and back.

I remember first hearing Chris' incredible voice when I was 4. I was sitting on the floor in the family living room, and the music video for Black Hole Sun came on. I was instantly hooked, and growing up I was always blown away by Chris' amazing vocal abilities. I loved how he could just belt notes effortlessly and I remember telling myself, "Wow, I wanna do that. I want to belt notes like Chris Cornell." He honestly inspired me to start singing and performing at an early age. So much that I continued with my passion and dream of becoming a musician and a performer, and I recently graduated college with a bachelors degree in Popular Music and performance. Chris Cornell has inspired many and touched many with his beautiful, unforgettable voice. Thank you Chris for the amazing music, talent, love, generosity, and pure heart that you shared with the world. You and your music will NOT be forgotten. Rest easy, we love you forever and ever!

This song makes you remember what music actually is, a feeling, a vibe that you are able to leave to others forever to feel, and surround themselves with, even after you're gone . Beautiful

music with substance.... most modern music is like McDonalds, cheap, fast, and unhealthy for your soul. go try bands like Alter Bridge, Gojira, Depeche Mode, Live.... things that matter and have substance
