A great singer. He had everything, a powerful voice, charisma, a good looking and unique fashion style in heavy metal. In my opinion what he always needed was THE BAND. Although his time in Alcatrazz, his career was like a freelance singer who work for many bands. He was in a band and next year he was in another band. On the other hand he can say that he recorded with much of the greatest musicians of 70's and 80's rock: like Ritchie Blackmore, Micky Moody, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Chris Impellitteri, Bruce Kulick, Vivian Campbell, Slash, Jon Lord, Cozy Powell and many others.
@STataw11 жыл бұрын
According to the liner notes of the booklet of the Line Up CD this track had Cozy Powell on drums, Micky Moody on Acoustic & Electric guitar, Gary Twigg on Bass, Andy Bown on Organ & Piano and Francis Rossi on Coral Sitar: S.H.7 Syntheziser.

Graham Bonnet is a great singer. Why do people complain about the obvious miming? At Top Of The Pops, all the artists pantomime to their tracks,.... Depeche Mode, Jimmy Nail, you name 'em,.... they all were made to lip synch on TOTP. They didn't have live acts on that TV show at that time. Yngwie really added lots of flavor to this song for sure, but I really like this version as well. :)

See the man in the busy street He's almost incomplete He takes his pleasure in strange ways And the lady in the library She's just like you and me You wouldn't know her at all. She takes a train up to the great big city She knocks a door and steps right in He's just a fool that some would like to pity They work to out in the house of sin. Night games They pay for their night games They were two lovers, they don't use names It says in the rules It's strictly for cools to play their night games They pay for their night games Always play one last frame Games of the night Every room is a different scene Every one has a different dream They make it anyway they choose You can get anything you need Anyone if the price's agreed And nothing left for you to lose It's entertainment for the lost and lonely And cabaret for those who dare The last attainment of the one and only It's got to be to get you there. Night games They pay for their night games They were two lovers, they don't use names It says in the rules It's strictly for cools to play their night games They pay for their night games Always play one last frame It says in the rules Night games They pay for their night games They were to lovers, they don't use names It says in the rules It's strictly for cools to play their night games They pay for their night games Always play one last frame It says in the rules

Stone Cold and Street of Dreams are my favorite songs from the Turner era of Rainbow but I do agree with you, he did suck as a singer. 1. Ronnie James Dio 2. Graham Bonnet 3. Joe Lynn Turner Those are my favorite singers in Rainbow in that order.

@Zukatsr125 I absolutely agree. All those "guitar hero" type of guitarist from the 80's like malmmsteen, satriani, steve vai, paul gilbert... and so on are so much overrated. They're technically very good, but neither of them have a bit of emotions like for example Gallagher had, or Gary Moore or already mentioned Micky Moody (especially when he's teamed up with Bernie Marsden)

I could be wrong, but I think I've seen some old Judas Priest TOTP that were non-lip-sync (live), in which Halford's full vocal prowess was on resplendent display. (e.g. 1979 "Take on the World"). To be sure the band was "canned", but Halford appears to be singing "live".
