Me too! I'm 60, and have been binge watching Adam Ant videos lately (can't stop! 😅). I haven't heard THIS particular track though since back then!!! I DO remember it, although I can't remember seeing it on Top of the Pops. I love the drums!!
@agritrend48123 күн бұрын
I am 56 too. I remember seeing it on Top of the Pops. It was an instant attention grabbing ear worm. I loved the tune and the arrangement but the lyrics were so crap. This is the song which should have been given a soul and meaning with lyrics. Had it been so endowed it would have become a classic and been remembered. I remember people singing it at school the next day. The Dungeons and Dragons crowd loved it. I didn't. I found it to be utterly contrived and plasticised muso-pulp and I thought the stage performance forged and the costumery and face makeup preposterous and desperate. I hated the lyrics instantly. Seeing it again just now, I can see how catchy it is and how well designed it is as a pop product. Pure pop. 24 carat pop. But which muppet allowed those lyrics???
