I remember growing up as a kid watching the A7's flying out of Tulsa Intl, Air national guard. Really loved those old planes. They had such character. I was a little sad when they were retired but happy that we got F16's instead.

The "big boy" sign is for a famous diner chain called "Bob's Big Boys" (the "Big Boy" burger) and they always had a big statute of that chef cartoon guy at every store. There is a famous one in Burbank, California near the TV studios often cited as a favorite by Jay Leno who ate there frequently while hosting the Tonight Show... they also host classic car shows in the parking lot, etc.

The LTV A-7 Corsair II is an American carrier-capable subsonic light attack aircraft designed and manufactured by Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV). The Air Force also flew a version of them as well as other countries like Portugal and Greece. In my 20 years in the Navy they were my first squadron I was attached to. They were nicknamed the SLUF (Short Little Ugly F.....). They were an awesome aircraft. I was in VA-15 Valions squadron.

The A-7 was a 1960's era strike aircraft designed for the US Navy based on the F-8 Crusader. It was meant to fill the capability gaps of the A-4 Skyhawk during the Vietnam War. It was successful enough that the USAF also adopted it. I am glad you are enjoying the models...it is intended to be put together and displayed with either gear up or down based on your preference.

For JoNo. The A-7 was exported to a few allied countries including Portugal, which is why the version you have is in Portuguese livery.

The A-7 Corsair II was first used in the Vietnam conflict in 1960s and was retired from service with the United States Navy in the 1980s. This aircraft was nicknamed "SLUF" meaning "Slow Little Ugly Fellow".

I just found your channel and love it! I'm subbing and binge watching! ❤ BTW - When I wasa little girl, my bedroom didn't have heat either! Mom turned on an electric blanket before I climbed in & it was warm & toasty when I snuggled in. She turned the blanket off after I got in for fear of fire, but it stayed warm from my blankets & body heat. I never felt deprived. 😊

I have been lucky enough to physically see the B-2 Stealth Bomber fly overhead and make a pass over head at the California Capitol Airshow one year. We were able to hear the pilot speak to us since he was from Sacramento, CA, area. They made 2 passes and it's HUGE! I was surprised how big this plane is. And it even casts a pretty big shadow. That was the other thing that surprised me. I get to see T-38 (training fighter planes) do touch-and-go's at the decommissioned Air Force Base runway that I live next to. It's an active airport but the base was decommissioned. I get to see F-15 and F-16's on occasion as well. Have fun with those models. They are cool.

My son was a crew chief on the A-10 for most of his Air Force career. He loves that jet. It is an awesome machine. I've gotten to go to a couple USAF bases and see the Hog. When you get to the US, try to get to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, AZ. It has the Boneyard and is next to Davis Monthan Air Force Base. It has an indoor museum too, and the outdoor part has an enormous variety of old planes. Also close to Tucson is the Saguaro National Park. That area is the only place in the world you'll find saguaro cacti. The park is so interesting, and the desert is surprisingly beautiful....just watch out for rattlesnakes!

Therre used to be a video of a man on the flight deck getting sucked into the big intake. He was alright because the engine fodder out when it sucked his helmet off. *** I was mistaken, it was an A-6 the man gets sucked into. Video can be seen by searching: "NAVY Sailor getting sucked into A-6"

Actually fake age that sign and it’s going to look much better. Ding it up with some heavy chains. Scratch up certain parts. Spray some water and wait for it to rust a bit. The idea is to make it look old but it’s not really old. There’s a market for that type of sign and it looks really good like that.

The B2 is only 17' tall from the ground to the top of the engines so the wings are approximately 4' thick. There is no data that gives an actual number.
