If someone sexually assaulted a female in your family (niece), how would you react?. Admirable restraint was shown by Teddy as he'd be in jail now had he pulled the trigger. Mike definitely touched her up, you can see him trying to manipulate the interviewer by saying how do you know? You don't pull a gun on someone because they're better than you in the gym & Cus did choose Mike over Teddy as Cus knew he had a gold mine in Mike. Just a shame he never lived long enough to cash in.

This guy did one of the best interviews I've ever seen with Tyson. People have ask him allot of this stuff before over the years, but I've not seen anyone ask all these questions in one sit down. Mostly Mike looked calm and not irritated by all the questions, which I think the interviewer gets credit for creating that atmosphere. But either way, it can't be easy sitting there asking personal questions and watching Tyson get emotional, there would always be a sense of what if I'm the guy Mike flips out on. Lol, not a fun thought. Still wondering if anyone will ever get Mike to talk about his rape conviction. That would be the interview of all time.

This interview is excellent, but I do feel I can relate to what Mike was saying at the end of this clip about not being the person that they're trying to interview anymore. On the other hand, I feel a kind of admiration for this mildly nervous, but extremely honest and authentic person that Mike has become. It's got to be tough to talk to people so much about the person that he used to be when they don't ever seem to get around to the question of who he is now.

Mike speaks in symbols and metaphors better than anyone. He is a savant IMO. I don't know exactly what his brilliance is, but it is there. No one, besides maybe OJ Simpson, has had a more acute fall from grace in our recent history. I think part of his brilliance is his ability to reflect on his most damaging self-induced problems, actually learn and gain wisdom from these issues, and then to be able to articulate it in a way that most people can digest it

The real Mike Tyson is a incredibly intellegent, well read individual with a amazing ability to learn different skills. One of them was boxing. Intimidating people was part of his pesona. The real tyson is probably a articulate savant who would rather spend his time with his head stuck in a book.

The only suggestion I have is when you interview someone like this, bring some positivity into your questioning. Like Mike said, it's his past. We all want to have some insight into it, but I'd love to hear what his thoughts are about upcoming fighters, athletes, is he coaching anyone etc..

I can sympathize with Mike Tyson because I to know what it's like to be judged for something you did at twenty , 20 years ago. I have very controversial tattoos but at 42 I no longer believe or think that way. I don't want to have a conversation about something I put on my body as a kid when I'm a middle aged man now.

Despite the fact that Mike is doing much better these days, it's still risky to take him down memory lane. There is a lot of pain back there for him. Of all the endless captivating clips of Iton Mike, my favorite is when he’s discussing the gun being pulled on him. “He pulled a gun on me, but didn’t even shoot me. God knows, if I had pulled a gun on him..” Doesn’t sound like he’s boasting. Sounds like he’s mature enough to be painfully aware of what would’ve happened, had he pulled the gun.

Graham Bensinger The questions are somewhat exceptable even if you are pushing it, with someone who is trying to be as honest and raw with you.... and the way you came across on a few of the questions needs a little tweak, the delivery is key to the response.... be more down to earth, not coming across like a privately educated school boy as much when talking to someone who couldnt be anymore opposite.
@DeadlyVerge
@DeadlyVerge 7 жыл бұрын
Sympathize with the person you're interviewing. When you ask a loaded question and receive a deep heartfelt answer, don't then automatically move onto the next question like a production robot. Sympathize and connect with the person, and simply encourage them to keep opening up. You'll be connecting with the audience at the same time.
@urmaker

Exactly what I was thinking. There were some great opportunities to just jump in and reply like a normal person. Like the statement he started with Graham's name. It would have been awesome to get in a more comfortable position that is less interview-y and reply, "Mike, I am not trying to push buttons or look for the dirt and glitz. I am here to talk to you and let people know a little about the heavyweight champ from his point of view. We all have skeletons in our closets.". I could add more to that but to me, that is kind of what I expected. I think he was just nervous. Seemed like he was trying to word things too carefully after Mike got a little defensive. Just missed that little touch of showing him you are talking to him like a friend getting to know someone and not just doing an interview. Regardless, much more of a respectful interview than I think Mike has had. I can't blame him for getting a little uppity about some things. He is used to being on guard all the time with media. I can't say I blame him at all. I can only imagine what he has gone through with reporters and whatnot.
