I encourage anyone to read his autobiography and you will get a good glimpse inside of this man's psyche and perspective.. he is deceptively intelligent and surprisingly well read and has great insight as he gets older into what it takes to be a man and how to own ones tragedies and triumphs gracefully I hope to one day meet him and give my appreciation

After listening to the to his incredible recounting I now realize that his awesome persistence, glorious winnings, even the losses when he grew older, were all a massive victory by a real man of great truth and courage. I've been at times asked who I thought in the world measured up to being the perfect gentleman. Before he took his fate and victory in hand, in those terrific years of discipline, courage and victory, I now look back and see that it is the immense victory of the man who, like Mike, fought and discovered the power within himself to fight and reach heights that most of us only dream about .That too, incapacitated by fears.Mike overcame it all. We know and saw that what he did in the ring was a climbing of those steps into victory. I will bet that he is on his way to greater victories. In faith I will say to Mr.Tyson : I can see and hope I will be around to see you winning those greater victories. Your fights in the ring proved that , as Les Brown says, a man who will not listen to a world that says it's impossible.Good luck and God bless you and your family Mike.Yoiu'd be amazed at how deeply most of the world admires you. Cheers. By the way, your speech could only have come from someone with intense power. Adios and zgoc blesd.

Lets all forgive racists and rapists ... THEY are the real victims lol
@owenwilberforce61383 жыл бұрын
@@jannorris4140 - There is no one expressing that sentiment at least not from me. The idea though that someone is irredeemable gives no one any chance. Tyson may have done horrible things and been a horrible person, yet he has made some acknowledgment of his mistakes. If that counts for nothing then what is preferable? We should just assume he is invalid forever as a person? I don’t know how one could forgive a rape, but at what point has he made himself unworthy of any redemption? The only way forward is to see we all have acted unconsciously. While I would never ever condone violence to women it’s a stunningly real occurrence. What is not common is acknowledging one’s unconscious evil actions as unacceptable. Him acknowledging may not erase the past, but it begins a step forward to remake the future. Men like Tyson who had been trained to be driven to be as violent and intimidating as he was seldom make any acknowledgements of being wrong. It matters to own your past. It matters because many still respect his formidability, which many people experienced in the ring.

@@dssfffdddss333 same here but not because I refuse to believe he lost. for me at it's just too painful and sad to see him lose. last 2 fights I ordered on ppv, vs danny williams I remember screaming at the top of my lungs cause it looked like a classic 1st rd tyson ko was about to happen. but danny survived and as the fight went on it wasn't looking good for mike. even without the twisted ankle i don't know if he had enough gas in the tank to keep going. and why pick enormous opponents? younger tyson would have had a field day- huge, slowish guys were just big heavy bags, perfect for target practice. but stamina and even punching power was obviously nowhere near what it used to be. wish freddie had trained more of tyson's fights- he came out looking really sharp and not 1 punch ko head hunting. mcbride was a disaster but really solidified that there's no way he should ever fight again. was kind of funny in the post fight interview he said something like he should never have lost to a fighter with mcbride's skill level which is proof of why he should retire. would've been nice to see him go out with a W but it is what it is. I still never watched holyfield 1 and lewis fully from start to finish. at least he had his moments from each loss and arguably ko'd douglas in a modern version of dempsey's long count vs tunney. to me louis and dempsey are #2 and #3. iron mike is and always will be #1

I am a married white mother of 2, and I have plenty of my own demons; some I can talk about and some that I hope never see the light of day. It is so inspiring to see such straight forward honesty and hear about this level of personal triumph. Mistakes will happen, but that doesn't take away how far he has come, and I love that!
