That ghost town looked well cool in B&W but damn, those colours too! I could spend hours there focusing on the faded signs, paintwork, rust... And that final self portrait in your hotel room was 🔥

The tones that the film produces are just spectacular and your self portrait was phenomenal.

Had to hit pause and comment right away…the script, sound design and visuals in the opening (first 47 seconds) are SO good. Well done. Okay, back to watching the rest…

Taylor, your work is exceptional… You have this way of taking the mundane day to day and lead the viewer / observer to a place of extraordinary imagination … especially with the instant B&W. I enjoy the videos… Nice Work!

To me black & white always looks timeless while color work is about a specific time and place. Love what you’re doing - keep channeling your inward Edward Weston.

This is so sick, what a gem of a location! The shadow play was genius, too. Love your thoughts on B/W capturing “a moment gone” which should TOTALLY be a photobook title. Great work.

As an old photographer I love B\W. Did my own developing and printing doing straight prints, Special effects and full sheet proof prints. Everything you said about B\W is absolutely true. it's a distinct mind set, a different way of seeing the world. Instead of color you think in tones just like they did in the old days of B\W Films. It's awesome! Your pics are amazing and you captured the very essence of the image. Keep up your fantastic work. I love it. I subscribed as well :)

I was recently in Las Vegas and probably stayed in the same hotel because I had almost the same view of the Wynn and Encore. I failed miserably in photo creativity, however. Wish I would have seen this video before I went. lol Your creativity is awesome. I had an Olympus AF-1 point and shoot which was fun, and I got some good stuff, but I'm glad we have youtube and creators that can give us such great ideas as yourself.

That silhouette image in the hotel room immediately reminded me of the Circus X-Files episode when this tall character had a much smaller twin growing out of his abdomen. It later turned out that the twin could separate and venture forth on his own. :-D

Black and white is pretty much all I've shot for more than 25 years. I started out with color film, like everyone, but it didn't really do much for me (I'm not what you would describe as a talented photographer.) That changed when I started using B&W and moved on into formats larger than 35mm. I seem to see things in terms of tones, not color, even though I'm not color blind. B&W is timeless to me: the photograph could have been taken anywhen. And I'm attracted to the additional layer of abstraction which comes from rendering colors in terms of tone rather than color. It also brings shape and form foreward; color has a way of machine-gunning everything else sometimes, and I've never been happy with the way it dominates modern photography.

Hey man, thanks for inspiring me to add Death Valley on my photo vacation trip. It was wild man, I stayed overnight in my car at Badwater Basin, 99 degrees at 2:30 AM. She was hot boy. 100% worth it though. I did Rocky National Park, then Grand Canyon, Death Valley, then Finally Zion. I'll put a video together soon. Thanks again!

I suspect that this town is east of San Diego. I know we don't like to ruin places by releasing the exact directions. Can you give a small hint. One fellow below said he got married there, so it must be pretty well known to locals.

Your self portrait, @14:20...very nice. I have rarely, in fifty years, done a self portrait. I recently gave a Polaroid to a young lady. Not as nice as your camera. She wanted to have fun with her daughters and the instant pictures. Maybe one day I will get a chance to do a photo walk in a ghost town. Well, I don't really expect it.

I am a student residing in india I want to start in landscape photography which camera should Buy it will be my first camera also I don't have much budget please suggest
@Hellseeker15 күн бұрын
I don't think we can tell you what camera to buy unfortunately. It needs at least 20 megapixels, the ability to change lenses and Crop Sensor at the bare minimum. All I can suggest is get a tripod, remote shutter release, and the widest lens the camera you do buy can equip. 8MM is what I use for landscapes. I have a Nikon D7200 (Discontinued) and it was about $1200 brand new and it came with 2 kit lenses. The body alone was a little over $700 US. Your top Brands are Canon, Sony and Nikon at the present time. I'd see if you could buy used if money is tight but I must warn you, photography in general is not kind to the wallet. Good luck!

As soon as a picture is taken, it is frozen in time. No need for black & white to give a feeling of the past. It is a visual torture for me to watch your wonderful color video, but see the resulting pictures in B&W.
