Jasper High School is a grade 9 and 10 campus in Plano, TX, a Dallas suburb. Their orchestra currently serves over 200 students in five orchestras. Since its inception in 1996, Jasper's Legacy Orchestra has repeatedly ranked as one of the top three string orchestras in Texas, competing alongside high schools that fill their orchestras with 9th through 12th graders, and in 2014 the full orchestra was named the TMEA Honor Full Orchestra. Jasper's orchestras have also repeatedly earned top commendation at UIL competition and festival competitions across Texas.
This performance is part of the recording that earned the Jasper Legacy Orchestra finalist status in the 2013 Texas Honor String Orchestra competition.

JustInsanity we’re playing this song this year and I think it’s beautiful but our intonation is really bad and i think that is because people are not practicing and most people in my class don’t really want to be there and all I want is for us to sound good and felt good about it that it brings tears to our eyes after we’re don’t playing

This is one of the best recordings of this piece on KZbin. If I couldn't see it, I wouldn't believe it was 9th and 10th graders. With his skill, this young conductor should pursue a career with more advanced ensembles and succeed at them. (Not that high schools don't deserve good people!)

I got my best gig players to play this in Sunday chapel ( when we had a roof, and an Estey Organ or a piano)) during WWII. I'd like this played for my own memorial..maybe soon. Tomorrow I'll be 91).

+Fkm Fkm Sure the piece isn't that technically demanding, but the interpretation of the piece and musicality of the performance is close to professional. Definitely nearly impossible for middle schoolers
