It’s in the Mid City area of New Orleans., La. The house was built by my great grandparents in 1915. My older brother owns it now, and our mother lives there with him. They filmed the entire house scene as is, without bringing in any props other than the shotgun and bird cage. I’m glad to know that the place will live on in film.

I... I don't know how I feel about the video. In the first act I felt fearful then relieved when the woman had her abusive husband arrested. But once the whole fight club portion was introduced, I felt the video took a distasteful turn. I get the whole idea that the wife was fantasizing about fighting her ex husband, but pummeling another person will never change the fear she experienced. Regardless of gender, whether a guy abuses a girl, or vice versa, or any combination of genders, domestic violence is never something to glorify or fantasize about. As soon as the woman began fighting, I just kept thinking "she has every reason to vent, but she can never fight to take her years of oppression back. She's safe now & I'm happy for her but for her to take on more violence, even on her own terms, disturbs me".

DJGreenscreen A video doesn't need to take on a moral high ground to teach a moral lesson. You yourself interpreted what is wrong with what these characters did. Wright or wrong, there was something shocking and thought provoking about this video. That is the pointy of art in general. Does this slightly glorify violence, maybe, but does the video seem like it is saying it's okay to go beat up other people? No not really. If you want to take this another way I could say it is unlikely that this woman actually went to a fightclub and after her husband got arrested, that was just a fantasy of hers, while she fed her bird. (Though I do think she went to fightclub) You understand yourself when you said "As soon as the woman began fighting, I just kept thinking "she has every reason to vent, but she can never fight to take her years of oppression back?" Those questions were raised by this video as is. If they changed it to be politically correct, would you still be asking the same questions?

I can imagine a version of the thruth behind the scene, that the woman is intentionally harming herself, and tricking her husband, for example at 0:52 shw throws the bird food on the table (might be feed the bird yourself), the husband is angry because he is clearly cleaning, maintainig his shotgun. The fight between the two is not that violent either... the woman must have gotten the bruise from a fight with the others also... The clip seems straightforward however on second thought, i can see a tricked husband, who is provoked intentionally and then taken by the police.
