She was absolutely wonderful intelligent and when you think of what she did supporting the Resistance knowing she could be shot like her Uncle she was so brave. When the Allies arrived she was close to dying from Starvation and they didn't have the right medication so had to use Chocolate to keep her alive. Her struggle with her weight was a constant battle nearly causing her not to have the Children she desperately wanted. Beautiful Graceful and Enchanting with that wonderful slow smile of her's! No wonder Givenchy adored her she could look a million dollars in a Bin Bag! Cancer of the Appendix is rare and impossible to treat even today. Gregory Peck became a great friend from day one filming Roman Holiday and he did the address at her Funeral saying he'd lost a wonderful friend.

i still remember that i saw this movie with my grandfather when i was 4 years old. i got fascinated by the dance and by 5 i learnt how to ballet and belly dance. now, since my 12 years old, i do gymnastics. btw, the movie was released in uk 50 years after my birthday, funny! :-) thanks, audrey!

Madame Rambert told Audrey that her dancing abilities would only be good enough for the Corps de ballet or to teach at the ballet school, but for nothing more. Audrey was always frank about her being absolutely desperate that her dream to become a primaballerina was over. In some way we have to be very grateful to Mdm. Rambert, because otherwise we wouldn't have been so lucky to get Audrey the movie star we all love and adore so much. 😉😍

Apparently. I was a dancer and I noticed also, however when I watched the movie "A Late Quartet", I couldn't tell that only one of the players was a professional musician.(Since I'm not a musician.) It was fun to read reviews though and see how musicians go nuts over the bad technique of the non-musician actors. Watching Natalie Portman in Black Swan nearly drove me crazy when they weren't using her double. Mostly because she was supposed to be an up and coming prima ballerina. Have you seen the series Flesh and Bone? Now that was a real treat. Beautiful dancing. BUT, I still love Audrey, and Natalie and even poor Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who unbeknownst to me had terrible violin technique! While looking up the movie title I came across a movie where Audrey plays a cellist!! I have to check it out...

Contrary to what people want to believe there have been several kind, humble, and sweet natured people in Hollywood, not just Audrey (even if unfortunately today there are more bad people in Hollywood than good). There is Keanu Reeves whom I actually consider to be more authentic than Audrey because he doesn’t have an image like Audrey did, he has always genuinely been a good person and he has helped those less fortunate, but does so in a more quiet way than Audrey did. And he is such a sweetheart to the people who he’s worked with even if they are just crew members, he makes sure that they get paid well. There’s Angelina Jolie who actually adopted children from third world countries and spends most of her time helping others less fortunate. She’s also doing it at an earlier age than Audrey. There’s Rick Moranis who didn’t have to, but gave up his career in Hollywood and never went back, in order to raise his children when his wife died of cancer. There’s Danny Trejo who even though he comes off as intimidating and has a shady past, has proven himself to be selfless; he saved a baby even if it risked his own life. There’s also Mr Rodgers who created Mr Rodgers Neighborhood to set a good example for children. And the list goes on of so many unselfish great people in this world, yet the only one who is elevated to almost saint level is Audrey? That is exactly what irks me: All the fans who make it seem like she was the most perfect human to exist. Well she wasn’t. Another thing that upsets me is that people claim that she was the most beautiful, graceful, classiest woman ever and that no other woman could ever compete. All that does is discredit women who are genuinely good people and do have all those qualities that were just listed. But because they aren’t Audrey they aren’t even acknowledged. And don’t get me started on how people bash any woman who is compared to Audrey. Marilyn being a good example. Marilyn who was a victim of child abuse and exploitation, who also suffered from mental illness. So much for ending the stigma of mental illness right? To further prove my point you just brought up the Kardashians. The Kardashians aren’t good people but ever thought that they along with many others get plastic surgery because of an insecurity and they just want to feel good about themselves? This crap has got to stop. We need to stop putting other people down who aren’t Audrey. Audrey wasn’t perfect. She had her addictions, may have had anorexia, and got involved with married men.
