@Anthony Purvis Teaching grammar isn't an easy task and not all conscious teachers opt for using grammatical termonology ! A vast majority of students complain that the study of grammar is too dull and boring and keep blaming their teachers ! This brave Lady is trying to make her lesson quite simple , so clear and enjoyable . She is not , at all , idiot .

thanks .. good info. في العربية الفرق واضح تماماً حين تقول "يرفع أو يربي" ستستخدم Raise وكلاهما يحتاج إلى مفعول به أما حين تقول "يرتفع" فتستخدم Rise فالفعل يرتفع لا يحتاج مفعول به كما في مثال أشرقت الشمس أو ارتفعت الشمس

Howdy. Raise is a transitive verb. A subject does something to an object. Rise is an intransitive verb. It describes a change or tranisition of the subject. Now in my senior years I have begun to appreciate the grammar school my parents put me through in the 70:s. Regards.
