Looks like the online aspect of GT7 is even worse than I thought. You can't even save your game without being online.

Would love to hear some Tokyo Xtreme Racer series guitar riffs. Series has some memorable music. GT4 is absolutely amazing. I wish I would've given it more time around its release.

No promises, but I will keep it in mind. I am trying to learn more video game stuff on guitar.

Man, I love the PS2 controller. I hear you on the pressure sensitive buttons though. On the games that use them I have found them to not be *too* bad (pretty sure Ridge Racer V uses them, and even Eternal Ring!), but thankfully the majority of the library does not use them. Regarding the GT games, I still to this day have not given them a chance. Sim racers were never my cup of tea back in the day, but I think I could see myself getting into them now. Have you streamed the OG PS1 titles here? I know with 3 and on in particular they are loaded with licensed music, so I probably wouldn't want to do them here thanks to the copyright claims I'd get from them.

That's a big reason why I haven't streamed any of them, they all have licensed music. GT5, 6, and PSP all have options for custom soundtracks though. I was thinking about possibly streaming GT5 in the future and filling the soundtrack with my own songs and some cool video game tunes that won't get my stream blocked. I do really like the PS2 controller. The pressure sensitive buttons always mess me up in this game though. I'll be on a straightaway and realize that I'm not at full throttle so I end up pressing the buttons extra hard to compensate.

@@BawesomeBurf Damn! That's a shame, but good to know. I wonder if it's possible to mute the music and leave sound effects playing? That would be another option for me. I actually did that with my PS1 DOOM stream a couple weeks back. Played my own music and it seemed to work well. I really would like to start with the PS1 originals if I can, but I do have 3 and 4 on PS2 as well.

I also play dirty so I like it when cars take "real" damage. GT feels more like a car portfolio to me. Licenses are not appealing either. Wreckfest is my favourite racing game because it is simple arcade fun yet with complex physics and damage system. Absolute chaos.

I'll have to look into that game.

i never played 4 at all for some reason but i do remember the tests were the worst part in these games. very funny rants though

It's cool when they are optional. That way the more casual fan can just start racing and earning right away, and the hard-core crowd can still get their license fix.

I'd rather just play arcade racing games because they don't have all the bullcrap sim racing games have. And yeah I hated the licenses in GT2.

They're basically mandatory tutorials if you want to experience the full game. Except you can fail these tutorials.

I do really like the PS1 NFS games. Haven't played much of the series since. But I imagine none of them have the same physics or career structure of the GT games.
