Wow, Abdulaziz is a god awful driver. Every position he gained came with contact; I literally didn't see him make one clean pass. I actually cheered a bit when he spun himself into the wall at the end of lap 7. Edit: That move from Konsta on lap 10... Wow! Now THAT'S how you overtake someone. Edit 2: Glad I re-watched this this morning after nodding off last night. Great race from you, Steve. Shame you couldn't get second in that race, but can't be mad at the podium finish after the battle. Only problem is I'm at work and I want to race now...

Yes thats what I thought also. He got hit by karma, when he was arrogant aggresive Saudi-Arabian driver. Earlier in the race pushing others aside to get overtakes done, but he had bad strategy with going with softs in start, when he could not accept himself getting overtaken, so it was not the slipstream, when he didnt want the Norwegian guy also overtake him, but funnily he got then hit by karma and finished 10th place.😂

I'm always amazed how you gain so many positions. Tbf, a third of the overtakes come from people binning it, but that's online racing. And it's worth mentioning that Steve has Qualifying Pace, that sometimes puts him on pole, but most of the times he's somewhere in the P5-P10, but then makes his way up in the race. Maybe it's because Qualifying in this games is basically time trialing? I think there's not the pressure of having to think about traffic, and limited tries to get that one lap done. If there was something like One-Shot Qualifying or a real Qualifying Session like in Project Cars 2, I think we would see many more Pole Positions from SuperGT.

I think there's some kind of psychological factor going to the death chicane at the start of the lap vs at the end. I think that might add to how comfy you were this race. That constant thought going through the whole lap "there's still the chicane" is kinda hard

wow, that makes so much sense, i was always wondering why the reverse layout feels a lot easier. In the standard track, you can do the entire race perfectly and then it throw it all away at the chicane. Doesn't really seem the same at the reverse track.
