The hardest is certainly sector 3 but not because of the turns themselves, but the sudden change of brightness that stops me from seeing and learning the course easily

Interesting reimagining of Grand Valley. It's been forever since i played it but the original was a full on racetrack i think. Now it's a full road course and very west coast USA. I like it though, can't wait to try it myself.

Just putting this out there: I hate what they have done with Grand Valley. Trial Mountain and Deep Forest had minor changes, but Grand Valley is unrecognizable!

My first and only taste of it was GT5. Cant say I have a specific impression on the track but must say that I prefer that track version there. Also, the sudden change of brightness at sector 3 was quite annoying

I was a bit annoyed at first when I seen the first glimpse vids on KZbin but after an hour or so of bashing about on it it’s not bad at all, it’s super tight on the track limits etc but you can gather a nice momentum through some sections, from a rose tinted glasses point of view they missed the mark, the best version was the GT1/2 version, it then got tweaked, less flowy mid sector with more angular turns but less tight hair pins, I used to love barrelling out of the last corner, two wheels on the kerb in the TS020, sadly no more, we need more events on this track now, 700 and 800pp races, and seriously you can’t not give us a 300km event, need more 1-3 hour events

I'm glad that Grand Valey returned to Gran Turismo, the track is great and one of my favorites, but I have to say that I liked the environment around the track more in parts 1-6 ☺

Just curious but what do you want credits for? What’s the point of buying the cars? All the licenses, circuit experiences, lap time challenges, and even online races provide you with free cars and tires. Can’t think of a single entertaining thing to do with any of the cars in my garage

Either be really good at the game and get a lucky run to beat it on hard... Or just turn the AI difficulty down to normal and get an easy dub. On hard mode the AI does magic pitstops that take about half the time your pitstops take so it's annoying to deal with. I'm not sure how it is on the current patch, but a few months ago it was a viable strategy to just fiddle with the setup of the super formula car a bit so it fits into the events pp window. strip off a little bit of downforce, restrict the power slightly and put on racing hard, you'll be flying through sectors 1 and 2.

This track is a prime example of how unrealistic the game is (even after update 1.31) IRL if you hit dirt/gravel with an “inside” tire, nothing happens. Here you instantly spin. The invisible barriers are also annoying. Not a fan of the tracks with barriers. Since there are no real consequences in a game they just become a test of who’ll waste the most time chasing a pixel perfect lap. A lap you can’t repeat even 2 out of 10 times isn’t a good indicator of how “gud” you are btw

I'm still silver on Sector 2. I'll get it but it's annoying. I wanted to practice the whole circuit so I tried to tune a car like the one in the CE. With Racing Hards and the HP and weight they claim, there's no way players can do it. I was unable to get closer than 709 over the 606pp, iirc. There's something not right about that. I don't understand their desire to give us shitty setups for great cars almost exclusively. Why not give us some challenges with a good car AND good high performance setup? Maybe they don't know what a good setup is since they've never presented an example. The other racing games I've seen gives you at least a couple of setups to try. PD's a weirdass, lazy company. Otherwise, I still like this track even though it's being mean to me at the moment.

From a driving perspective this particular layout has to be up there as one of the worst tracks i've ever driven in a racing game in my opinion. The track limits are beyond frustrating (if you don't want us to drive somewhere, don't put tarmac and a massive kerb there, just put dirt, it's a fictional track ffs) and it has a couple of very awkward sectors imo. That weird busstop/hairpin combo in the middle of the lap just feels wrong, there is close to no reward for doing that initial left-left-right well when you have to slam the brakes back on almost immediately after for the next right leading into the hairpin. And that combo of the 180° tunnel corner in S3 with the awkward and tight chicane also feels horrible. At least in the GTR they make us drive.
