Excited to check these out and see what it's like I always love a good challenge I literally just finished all gold on S license last month so a new license just came right on time for me... after completing that I have been more encouraged to try more challenging things and learn my true limit

I liked the idea of the weekly challenges, but these are not really new challenges. Apart from Lake Louise and the Special Event with the new GT3 RS, I had already completed the other 3 challenges before. I don't think these weekly challenges will help me complete the races of the world circuit, but rather end up redoing a series of complete races in the past.

You can tell he doesn't do much offline racing. He completely glossed over the fact that they have increased the payouts for Custom Races. Something players have been screaming about since day one, and it doesn't even get a mention, despite it being on the list next to increased payouts for Arcade Races (Now called "Quick Race"), which he did mention.

Note to everybody that wants to play split screen: To use your cars, from the garage you have to 'favorite' them in the garage and they will be made available in split screen mode

2 player splitscreen sucks since the gt7 release! Player 2 always has all assists on, and you cant change them. While player 1 can turn all assists off.

Hoping that with the next Sophy update, it'll be possible to set Sophy's difficulty to something akin to what it was in that first prototype. The limited tracks is also kind of a bummer, I hate blitzing the ai in a crown royale built to nascar specs, because they don’t bump draft or run corners well at blue moon, or the fact that they don’t bump draft at all at Daytona, they’ll just slam the brakes and stack up a line when they get too close to the car in front. Other than that, I just wish they were able to put sophy on the ps4 version 😭😭

@7ens3nButt0n It's still a grind especially in the beginning because you need to earn levels to unlock features in the game. But as far as grind, online time trials have been added to get money. Mastering circuit experience for each track and/or layout can net you $1.2-$1.6 million if you get gold. License test grant you new cars upon gold completion. But this update makes non-PD created races worth it aka arcade races/custom races actually pay out...but again those increases in payouts are a reflection of your car collector level which is a grind early on. Then another thing that effect custom race payout is if you mastered the circuit experience which is also a grind but fun grind. The thing is, if you can only get bronze in online time trials...payout is weak. If you can only bronze circuit experience....payouts are lower making expensive cars in legendary car dealership harder to obtain. I would say this update is great for people who have been playing long because we are teasy to take advantage of a lot of stuff from the get go. Where as a new person stull has to grind the game itself to access THE GAME lol

I play on controller and i still have tons of fun collecting cars and racing single player. Im too cheap to pay for multiplayer access or a racing setup. Have fun!

You can put any car you have to split screen races, but you first need to make them favourite in garage.

So, something to note on split screen car choices: They provide a variety of cars by default - but you can add more cars by "favoriting" your cars from your garage. When favorited, they can be selected, with their liveries and upgrades and all.

This is a good solid update, particularly like the Sophy additions but wish it could be on longer races. What I was really hoping for above anything else was an update to the BONKERS penalty system for on-line races. We didn't get that, and I think it's long overdue. I gave up racing on line because of the shameless ramming and punting - was hoping they would at least try to fix it, but to no avail. Maybe that'll be a GT8 thing? I can always hope.

I've been enjoying the new Master License tests. It wasn't uncommon to Gold a lot of the regular License tests first try, but now it feels like the majority of them do take quite a few attempts and some whittling down the tenths and hundredths to get the Gold, as License tests in Gran Turismo SHOULD be. EDIT: Played Gran Turismo all day today from about 1PM till about midnight since I have a few days off work lol. First time I've had a long session of the game in ages. Did the first weekly challenge, one of the new menus, and spent 8 hours getting Gold on the Master B, A, International B and International A licenses. Definitely feels nostalgic for the PS2 days. Plan on doing the Super license tomorrow, I imagine it'll take a full day since a lot of my least favourite tracks to drive are on there. GT is back babyyyyyy

Love that you can now do more than 2 player split screen. I'm the only one in my family who plays the game often, but i sometimes play the games with friends. One thing that I think split screen is missing is the ability to split screen while having a full grid (be racing against bots as well). Other people who I've had race alongside me have asked if we can be racing against more cars, and I always hate having to say no.

I 95% of the time race GT 7 with my Logi G29 but today, I decided to try the new snow track with my DualSense Edge. Oh my that was an excellent race. The snow feel in the controller is definitely different than dirt/tarmac. I did the same thing Super GT did, buy that Porsche and go race it on the snow track. Made 1st on medium difficulty first try. Really fun track. There's a couple spots you can get some air and it looks awesome in replay. I do, like others, wish you could set more details for the Sophy races. Hopefully PD will expand on this in the future. Really great update. As usual, excellent video Super GT.

I spent the day working through the first 40 of the 50 new license tests trying to get Gold on them, the few that were on the new snow track were some of the hardest as the ideal lines and technique definitely takes more getting used to than the dirt tracks. It's a fun challenge

We need an option to choose how many laps we want and time progression for sophy quick race. Or just add it into custom races in the future so sophy can even do pitstops and drive in rain and snow. PD makes many things harder than we can see it. I hadn't think that it's so hard to make Sophy works on all races. And I suppose that Sophy can't drive in Rain, that is why PD add Sophy on 9 tracks only. But I don't think that it would be hard to make opportunity to choose 4-5-6-7 laps instead of 2-3 in Quick races with Sophy.

After playing Forza 8 for quite some time, I'm starting to appreciate GT7's graphics more and more. The game is so much more sharper and colorful than Forza. The only thing I appreciate more on Forza than GT7 is the weather effects but they're so rare I don't even care about them that much.

And that’s given you’ve got a beefy enough rig to run the game at max settings with a minimum 60fps especially on rainy weather events. The car textures during the pre-race menu and tuning menu look abysmal most of the time, and I’ve got a killer rig. FH5 looked beautiful from launch and was pretty well optimized, but man they’ve really dropped the ball with FM8.

I don't see the point with adding qualifying especially if people only have 1 hour or 2 daily, all they want to do is race and not waste time doing more Qtimes.Ive heard streamers saying qualifying would be good but they're playing it for hours and it doesn't matter.

I am so glad to see a single player focused update! I played sport mode for a long time but it never scratched that gran turismo itch, but neither did the single player because of how dry it was. The only way to scratch that GT itch was to pull out the old PS2 and play GT4. However this update is great and will have me coming back to the game after about 4 months of not even thinking about it. I’d say good job to PD and hopefully they keep it up

excellent update, havent seen much talk of it but a really nice stealth change is custom races have had adjustments to their payouts, its possible now to do 30~min races in any car on any track you like and still make about 700k per hour, obviously worse than the 4 big grinders but better since you have waaay more variety

The only thing i was hoping for was a way to tell where you are to the rest of the field time wise in VR. I only play in VR now, love it and its all that's missing. Please listen polyphony 🙏🙏🙏🙏 i don't care how you do it, I understand a leaderboard across the windscreen will be less emersive, an extra turn on the hub to show it or a spotter like AC i don't mind. I hope this is a later patch as so many VR users are in the same boat 🙏🙏

The key to snow at least in real life is always maintaining power for control. Breaking will just lock up your wheels. My guess to this map would be just pitch the rear end and drifting the corners.

Last night I was up at like 3 an trying to use my Ford truck to drift the corner my best solution was slow down and with enough speed hand up the brakes and acceleration and let the car do its thing like normal drifting just control steering I hope I'm right

I just think we owe a huge thanks to the creators of Gran Turismo. It's had its fair share of ups and downs but mostly they have been pretty big ups. I've had hours of fun playing this game since the very first GT1 iteration. I could not have imagined it would have come to this. Thank you thank you thank you

I never thought I'd enjoy sim racing, let alone watching another grown ass man sim racing. I'm a relatively new GT7+PSVR2 "racer" and I absolutely enjoy it. Sport mode is really awesome.

I’ve got GT7 on PS5 and Forza Motorsport on PC and although FM is running at 4K ultra there’s something about GT7 that just looks better to me.

13:27 You can make your own cars available by marking them as favorites in your garage. I only wonder if PD fixed the bug of Player 2 being stuck with all driving assists regardless of configuration

so you can now choose Automatic or Manual and also assist settings so THAT is fixed. BUT for some reason it seems Player One has a power advantage no matter what. My friend and I raced the EXACT SAME CAR and hit at the same time but I seemed to just walk away from him. Its so annoying when they get something right theres always something wrong still. Hopefully this gets sorted out

Seeing the Sophy AI and how the Chiron held a steady line during the essess when you overtook it was... a breath of fresh air. It looks racey, fun, intuitive, and like it actually knows what it's doing on track. At least in comparison to the absolutely bottom of a bargain bin Forza Motorsport AI which figuratively shits it's pants every single time you go alongside it for an overtake and it'll steer directly into you to punt you into the grass.

So much in this update. Also two new bruisers for 700PP races: the 60s Charger and *gasp* the Tesla Model 3. Chargers top end is wild with like 900hp. Model 3s acceleration is stupid high but low top end

The snow track is awsome. If you set up a lobby and speed up the time and turn off equal conditions, then the surface changes from dusty snow through to ice at night. I just wish poly ramped it up so have black ice patches and let the track build up with snow banks in a whiteout....now that would be awsome like in gt6.

If you favorite your personal cars you can use them in split screen an in quick races!! So you can use all cars, just favorite them all!! Hope this helps

Really a fan of weekly challenges. It was something I wanted since launch to give Single Players a reason to come back. Now if we cam just perhaps get a list of Monthly single player tournaments. Each tournament maybe 6-10 races.
