One thing I've learned from motorsports games, brake at a certain point, then get back on the gas as soon as possible. Also, you should take a certain line through the corners as well. As someone who's gotten faster times with this strategy, it's helped me.

Awesome video, fantastic commentary too. Something that can be quite rare in gaming videos. I haven't played this franchise since GT6 came out, and that was fairly short lived, especially the online component. This was mainly due to the bad sportsmanship displayed by many of the online racers. It's heartening so see the penalty system working quite well in this iteration. You've made me seriously consider getting back into racing again. My PS4 has been used exclusively for Netflix/Stan/Amazon streaming for over 2 years now, I wonder if it remembers how to run games anymore.......

As an American fan, with likely very different touchstones for racing history and culture, you remind me of Al Unser, Sr., the second four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, and multiple national champion as well. When he had the car to dominate, he did, and those races were almost boring because of it, but when he didn't dominate, he was constantly lurking, ready to capitalize on any mistakes by anyone else. Actually, that also sums up Scott Dixon, in modern American open-wheel/formula racing.

Cool heads prevail. Right now at the 'Ring I haven't really had any qualifying time, only one lap so far until the weekend. So I'm starting near the back, I just focus on running smooth and short shifting using as much slipstream as possible and charge hard for the second lap. It's a lot of fun, especially running down the drivers coming out of the pits. I finish the lap with under .1 laps of fuel. So far only up to ninth. The GTR is so bouncy, maybe switch to nose cam or hood cam.

@TheMistyBlueLounge3 жыл бұрын
I start last or close to it most of the time. I'm in a weird position of having a slower qualifying or fastest lap, but seemingly having a lot more consistency during an actual race. Basically I just race cool and even, and capitalize on the mayhem and mistakes of others, especially early in the race. I often feel like I'm racing against people a lot faster than me, but I can still hold my own over several laps and usually come out ahead just because I'm not as aggressive.
@deadspace47555 жыл бұрын
From what l understood in my experience in racing in general, is that starting last in a online race with collision is easily the best scenario while first is the worst unless you have a powerful car to outrun people but even then, people will slam you. In single player, first is the best scenario evidently

Great race and video as usual. I had fun at Race C last week and I'm enjoying this week's version even more but I've got to repair my SR as there are always lower ranked clowns who believe they can win a race at the first corner and their stupidity results in the person getting punted losing SR and mine went from 99 all the way down to 64 after the scrambling was sorted. So from 2nd on grid I had to work myself back to 2nd on grid. As to how I lost so much SR is beyond me but if after effectively two laps it finished at 64, PD alone knows how much I actually lost and still gained DR working my way to A+ ranked and now up to 40,991. Hope to get it up to 46000 by Friday or more time permitting.

@gasixteenb115 жыл бұрын
@@AriesUmbra yeah really imagine getting a penalty because someone went off cut the course came back on and colliding with you ahead....he got .500 and you get 4secs for doing nothing. It happened to 2nd and 3rd after the guy in 3rd apparently got nervous realising i came back from behind didn't pit but was closing him down and he completely wiped out after the downhill esses losing control all the way through then drove across the loop and lost control again this time hitting the guy in 2nd before spinning off....at this stage the game should not be awarding penalties for being a victim and worse yet there is no 15sec window after race end to appeal....lol
