The French battleships were sunk because a part of France gave up and collaborated with the Germans. Therefore these ships would basically fall into German hands. To avoid this the English gave them a choice. The ships would go with them back to England, or they would be blown to smithereens. The French chose the latter. Something similar later happened in the war when the Italian battleships were moving to join the British after a part of Italy swapped to the allied side. These ships were sunk en route by german planes (also using some of the first guided missiles).

This is in the daily races this week with GT40’s. Problem is, and looking for help here, bump drafting (either doing it or being bumped) caused my SR to plummet from a solid S to a B in one lap! Was I doing something wrong? I bumped once and saw SR arrow down, then proceeded to get “boosted” from a guy behind that would push me at every chance (I was not blocking) and my SR kept going down.

That Route X race was mental in the lower levels. I got disintegrated in qualifying, started 13th. Made my way to the middle and then on T3 I think it was it went crazy. Guy in a Ferrari seemingly forgot to turn, absolutely slammed me into the barrier, I spin towards the inside sending a Zonda to kingdom come. Luckily he kept me pointing the right way but still out of control, I slam into the barrier again, going airborne and jumping over a Skyline, who was understandably startled and swerved back inside taking out another guy. Finally finished fourth with 0.056 from first.

Yes, but also no. After the surrender, Vichy France was obligated to remain neutral, but didn't become actually occupied until 1942, during which Vichy France scuttled their navy to keep it out of German hands. The Mers-el-Kebir attack by the British was in 1940, against what was theoretically a neutral target that had been an ally, which ultimately proved to be a mistake as Vichy France retaliated for the attack, and then eventually scuttled their navy themselves, without it ever passing into the control of Nazi Germany. used to do this type of races on gt6, was kinda fun because since everyone was driving between the nismo gt-r and the alfa romeo stradale (which for some reason was very good for long gears) what mattered was timing and generally skill rather than something else, meet some really cool people and we used to do rounds after rounds. had some good memories

I absolutely loved driving Route-X in GT5 with my Veyron, fun fact: although the track was a DLC, for the first few months it was possible to play on it without the DLC as long as you weren't the host of a room. No idea if it was intended in the first place, but at some point they removed this.

Always happy to see a new Super GT vid. Can't say taking a break is the wrong thing to do. Burnout is tough to deal with. Very difficult to get the passion back once it starts to fade. Always a good idea to just step away once in a while and do a bit of a reset.

They also do this in NASCAR too at the superspeedway's. Close to the end of the race sometimes they will get in a single file line like this and then everyone jumps out of line and tries to pass.

The first race was basically NASCAR on super speedways such as Daytona and Talladega, Put in some pit stops for fuel strategy, 3 different manufactures all teaming up with each other through multiple teams, add a big crash at the end, add some stages to encourage aggressive driving, it all makes for a pretty good race especially watching your favorite driver/manufacture work the draft and team up to the front of the pack.
