This was during Euro 92 hence the late start to Granada Tonight Weekend the following day as a result of ITV covering the Scotland v Holland match which was the 4:15pm kick off

I notice Lucy Meacock is still on it to this day.

She must have been on Granada Reports/Tonight for over 30 years by now.

She’s probably the longest serving ITV regional news presenter who’s still presenting behind Fred Dinneage

Bob Smithies (or Bunthorne if you did The Guardian's crossword on the back of the newspaper): how I miss his voice. He was also a great photographer too. Him, along with Anthony H Wilson and Bob Greaves, the voice of Granada Reports.

Apparently, lots of them felt really stupid doing this, thinking the audience would know it was fake. There was a Granada Reports anniversary item a few years ago, where they joked about it.

@@ziggydamaestro in 2005 on granada reports when Tony Morris did the tapping the keyboard and Lucy was embarrassed thinking about that and her hairstyle then while they celebrated itv being 50

@@peterwilliamskelhorn6675 It’s in this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZm1nI2Jo7N7paM Only knowing of Granada Tonight/Reports via YT and having always lived in the South East, I found the keyboard thing hilarious! An interesting idea and very comical to see, a great part of nostalgia 👍🏼

A bit worrying seeing Fred Talbot getting comfortable with the schoolchildren knowing what we know now.
