I adore the animation direction is S1 so much more than MAPPA's S2. I really wish they could have stuck with A-1 because its art direction was probably the biggest reason I fell in love with this series.

IDK, but Nobuo Uematsu did compose the soundtrack for the game and the Art Director also had the same role for Final Fantasy 5,6,9, and Lost Odyssey so there might be a tiny bit of a connection there
