Sometimes they are foolhardy and sometimes they only look dangerous when they actually are not that bad. But the Grand Canyon videos get a lot of press because more people are watching. I think the jump back, aside from being absolutely terrifying, is actually easier than it looks from the camera perspective. You can see he kind of just does a big step onto a foothold. But there's absolutely no way I'd do it, much less jumping over there in the first place.

I used to engage in this type of behaviour when I was in my teens and twenties..I had my fair share of cuts and bruises-lost fingernails and snapped Achilles tendon..ultimately I was lucky.. I'm still here..my brother had a bad fall which pushed his shin bones through his thighs and he had to have his legs bolted back together and a very good friend of mine lost his life doing something which I had almost come to regard as a walk in the park..it really makes you think very hard about how fragile we are and how precious and fleeting life is..now I don't do anything involving any sort of risk unless I'm getting paid for it..then it's a simple calculation of risk against reward. Hopefully this young guy will survive this phase of his life and stops experimenting with fate..

@dm28362 жыл бұрын
Oh no please DON’T tell their mothers, oh my God. They’re too old for her to stop them and she’ll just have to live with the fear and sickening dread in the pit of her stomach wondering if today is the day her idiot son whom she loves more than life itself, succumbs to his idiocy. If she cannot stop or prevent it at least let her enjoy her blissful ignorance of it. 😓

It's all in the planning of the steps. This guy is tall. Makes a huge difference. When I did this 41 years ago. I could not see the top of the outcropping, so I had to plan carefully each foot and handhold.

Is this a stunt guy? I swear my heart was ready to give out and I felt faint when he jumped. I had to rewatched the video after realizing he'd made it. He appears too calm to be an average person. This guy is a dare devil. They make a plan and execute it like a stunt team.
