Wife and I ended up purchasing a 320G last summer. It was a '19 model that was slightly used, we didn't really want a toy hauler but it was a really good deal and we are so happy with it now. Never haul any toys in the back, we do however carry a pellet grill, coolers, all of our luggage, fishing gear. That garage has been so useful for us, then after we arrive and get everything hooked up it becomes the kids bedroom. Could not be happier with our purchase. Also want to thank you so much for your videos, my wife and I searched for over a year trying to figure out what we really wanted, the towing videos you made really helped us out. I have a 250 as a daily driver but we ended up getting a 1 ton dually just for safety and so I'm not so tired and worn out. Many people don't understand how a large trailer and a small truck can wear you down. Sorry for the long rant! Much thanks and happy camping!!!

After looking at quite a few toy haulers, we settled on the 320G. Custom ordered one with the 3rd AC, slide toppers, 2nd awning, generator, 3 season doors, etc. We ditched the pin box in the dealer lot and put the goose box on. 3 weeks later we broke her in on our honeymoon with a 2K mile trip over 2 weeks. The camper performed flawlessly. It’s actually a hair over 36’ and the garage is 11’. It fit my Harley Ultra no problem. I did keep the freshwater tanks full to offset the 1K lbs in the rear. You pointed out a lot of the reasons we went with this model. Short length, but still good size garage and 2nd bathroom. I am 6’1 and I would say the bedroom area is closer to 7’ tall. Lots of room and lots of storage all packaged very well in something under 38’. I am pulling with my ‘16 Ram 2500 that I put air bags on that stayed around 25 lbs when towing. Running E rated tires and the goose box she pulled great. I would have to check to make sure it was back there once in a while. I do wish they had the option of full body paint and frameless windows, but you have to step into the momentum class then, which this floor plan does not exist. I prefer the exterior stairs over the fold up and the manual control panel over the new touch screen in all the rigs. Other than those couple things, it’s a wonderful rig with a lot of upgrades over the cheaper toy haulers. The money is well spent imo.

Did your 3 season doors come with the plastic screen covers and the happy jack have legs to support the seats?

@@HRCFan They have glass windows that drop down like a home screen door. I believe this was new for all 2020 Grand Designs. No legs for the happy jacks. We both sat on one sofa and did not feel that it was unstable. That was one of the best parts of our trip. I was able to backup over a flowing river @ 2 different campgrounds. It was 35 degrees in mornings and we sat on the benches with the patio door down and had our morning coffee while watching the river. It was a little chilly since they aren't insulated, but we had an oil filled electric heater to keep us warm :) And I measured the ceiling height and @big truck big rv was pretty close. It measures just under 6'7" It does not feel cramped in the least though.

@@RoyBelluomini The Happy Jack may require legs. Look under the seat, on the metal bracket. If a sticker is found that says anything about legs being extended, it is required to have them. I called GD support and found out they used 2 different models of couches for the 2020 and are mixed when built. Mine has the sticker, but no legs. They are going to send me a set. I'll have to check the three season doors again, but I don't believe mine can close at all, on the top half.

Andrew Postal I can’t comment on the AC. We got the camper in October and went camping in November. Only ran the heat so far. Being in Chicago our camping season doesn’t start until May. April if we are lucky, obviously not this year since everything is shut down. The cost to upgrade was a no brainer. Even if we only run 2 it can rotate between the 3 to prolong the life of the other 2.

Seating on the entry side is exactly what i look for in a trailer. I don't understand why too many manufacturers don't do it. Why i like the seating on the entry side? I can watch my kids my family around the firepit, at the dining table or just while everyone is hanging out. This is why i love the seating and big windows on the entry side.

Wow one of my favorite RVs I've seen Only thing I don't like about it is the slide on the passenger side I hate when companies put slides on that side It requires you to take up more space to setup you outside camping gear and also takes away the awning coverage So slides on both sides means your RV site needs to be two and a half time wider Not good when you are in tight forest camping I do however love side drop down patio decks Also toy haulers are perfect for dogs especially with a patio attachment

I just wish manufacturers would put the Big slides on the back of of the rv. Really like the size. The garage is great for bringing the Big grill and smokers and stuff for hanging out outside. When I am camping indoors is for sleeping or games on a rainy day. Thanks for the tour.

10ft garage doesn't leave much wiggle room with most SxS's, but I just looked it up on Grand Design's website. The garage on this 320G is an 11ft. Makes it more desirable to me! Nice unit.

I have been impressed with GD layouts and their best in the industry Customer Service. But I go back and forth with their decision to use Wood vs Steel/Aluminum Roof Trusses. Both have benefits and drawbacks. They are killing it with the layouts, the 399TH is definitely the best designed Toy Hauler 5'er on the market, and their new 390RK is probably the best standard 5'er.

I just bought a 2019 Ford F-350 lariat dually and now my wife and I are looking to buy a fifth wheel one that we will be able to get in the national parks. I would like for your opinion on of your top 5 to 10 fifth wheels. We are hopefully going to retire in 5 to 7 years that is when we will do more traveling but until then we will do short traveling for a while. I would love and can’t see what you come up with. Trying to figure out the tow vehicle for this one. I appreciate BTBRV opinions and agree on most of what he says. The problem I'm having is finding a single wheel truck that can tow this rig (320G with 16800 lbs GVWR) as he recommended in comments above. The actual payload capacity (not the maximum in the Ford brochures) of the Ford F350 SRW is around 3400 for a 4x4 and 3600 for a 2x4 with common options. If you go with 20% of the trailer on the hitch for a 16800 lbs 5th wheel that gives 3360 lbs in the bed of the truck. This is outside the ratings of most F350 SRW that I’ve found. Am I missing something? The other issue is how much “extra” weight should be accounted for in the truck to include people, hitch, and tools/stuff. I’m currently figuring on around 630 lbs for all that stuff but haven’t seen anyone mention good estimates for what to allow. Does 630 lbs sound about right for the extra stuff? One way this could work is if you assume 18% of the trailer GVRW on the hitch (3024 lbs) leaving just enough payload for 640 lbs of “extra” weight in the truck. I can’t find actual numbers for G320 trailers in the wild so don’t know if this makes sense, or I’m just pushing the envelope too much. Would really like to hear others opinion on this. My wife and I have a Grand Design Imagine and while they are a higher quality unit than most, they still suffer from some of the same "not so great" components that other brands suffer from also. The big difference with GD is their support. Every little issue we've had was taken care of by GD support and really fast! They really bend over backwards, in my opinion, to take care of their customers! It also seems that the GD family of owners is just that, a family. Many times we've been out and someone with another GD will approach us or we have approached someone with a GD and it almost feels like you already know them...you know, like a cult...kidding!! 😉

Better quality components, better build quality, and possibly the best warranty in the industry. Like, replace your couches even though its three years out of warranty sort of good, or replacing a roof on a brand new unit just because you dont like how it looks. Their RVs are generally trouble free, and they are all generally of a higher quality where it matters. They also have proper rallies every year, and if you visit the factory and need something fixed, they'll put you up in a hotel for a night with breakfast and dinner. Grand design really, really goes overboard on the warranty and customer service side of things.

I own a 2020 320G. Pin weight is 2600 lbs, not 3500. With a empty garage and all personal items on board. Overall length is 39-6. With deck down, add a good 8 feet. I bring motorcycles and don't see much of a change on pin weight when I have checked on scales. Water tanks are middle of the trailer so it too doesn't change pin weight much. Tow vehicle is a 2018 GMC 3500 HD SWD. Stock. No issues on the road, with the BW slide hitch (have a standard bed, wanted slide for flexibility if needed).

@@cadexim That is from back bumper to the pin. The actual "bumper to bumper' length is 39-6. I had to measure and prove it with my storage lot, as I had a 40' stall.

Finally showing the Momentum some love. One of the best looking and best bang for your buck. The only real downside is electric stabilizers. Now you just need to review the big ass triple axle momentums! Some even have a side ramp that turns into a patio!

In regards to the grease fittings on the chassis. My new jayco does not have any grease fittings. Can I buy replacement bolts with fittings? Have seen and talked with others that have had suspension failures. I would like to prevent such a event.

Could you check out a cedar creek 38RTH fifth wheel sometime. Where i live PA. they don't have any near me. There are some dealer's that would sale them. But, they don't stock them. The only place near to us is in OHIO. My wife an I are retired and looking to purchase one. We each have motorcycles that would fit in the little garage under the bed. You’ll have no problem. I would suggest getting airbags, to help level the truck back out, as well as provide some cushion to the ride. I got a set of the manual inflation AirLift bags for about $300, and took less that an hour to install.

The dining area is the garage. You have a table, two tables. One for the 2 couches in the garage, table in the middle. Legs slot into pre-set holes on the floor. Then a 2nd free-standing table you can use on the couch if you so desire.

I believe a F-150 dually will do really well on this toy hauler and a F-150 non dually will do just fine. Hope this helps. Just kidding. JD said, "1 ton single real wheel or dually" will be good enough for this unit.

I am going to tow mine with a Ram 3500 MegaCab DRW. Unfortunately, I will have to ditch my Reese Goose Box, but have found that Blue Ox makes a manual slider with Timbren rubber shock absorbers that mounts on the goose ball in my truck bed.

I think it’s ridiculous that they’re gross vehicle weight exceeds their axle weight that’s a very dangerous situation

You're never going to exceed that axle rating without exceeding the gross vehicle rating because 3k or so pounds are on the hitch of the tow vehicle. 100% of the trailer's weight is never on the axles, some is always on the hitch which is carried by the tow vehicle.

No way would any OEM manufacturer should put ground control on a toyhauler. They are protecting their profit margins, I have had both 2.0 and 3.0 versions. Both are junk, LCI has replaced fronts 3 times. You want to ruin a trip buy Ground control from LCI. Westlake G rated tires, until you have had them don’t you dare make any comments about not replacing them. West lakes are fucking BOMBS. I have had 8 of them and tried to run them, wrong every time. The damage they have caused is in the thousands. Replace as soon as you can, Westlake blow up, they don’t just go flat. Sorry but I stopped watching at the Westlake part, has anyone found a Westlake dealer anywhere in US? There are no Westlake dealers in US. No way for adjustment when you have a broken belt. Grand Design isn’t going to honor anything with a Westlake tire, been there.
