It's so cool seeing how second nature drumming is for you! It's like you played this song a million times. Definitely one of my biggest musical inspirations

Oh yes Great Rush Song Choice again. Great fluid and powerful but at the same time very relaxed performance. The mix fits perfectly for this song. All the best. ❤

Great work, as always. I'm curious about a percussive sound at 1:57.5 I think it's on the original track because I didn't notice you creating it here. The sound I'm referring to sounds like a hard ball hitting a cement floor in an empty warehouse. I love it, it's quintessential 80's Rush, and I never could figure out how it was created or who did it in the live shows. Was it a sampled sound Geddy produced? I didn't see Neil make it. Do you know? Very curious. ✌️

Thanks very much, again - appears it is a sample that Neil triggers (at least I have seen him trigger in live recordings of the song). You probably know this, but he had various small trigger pads in and around his acoustic kit, and he could also trigger samples with his left foot. I didn't have the sample on a pad like I do in some videos, so I just hit my china cymbal instead. :) The AI program I use (Moises) to separate the tracks must have placed that sound in a track other than the drum track, because like so many of my more recent videos, I pulled Neil's drum track (at least what Moises deemed as his drum track) out, but that sound is still present, as you noticed. I also love the industrial type sounds he would incorporate in his drumming. Enjoy!

Killer sound. Are the heads tune tight.
@jon32510 ай бұрын
Thanks - snare is quite tight. Toms and kick are tuned mostly on the lower end of their range, particularly the floors.
