OH MY GOD! The way that first Wildcat swooped in and stopped dead on the spot was fucking amazing (exactly why I’m getting my grades in the right place to increase my chances at becoming a Wildcat Pilot in the Army Air Corps)

Sorry, I mean Lynx (the Wildcat was only introduced into British military in 2015 so most likely after this air show). But I’m aiming to become a Wildcat Pilot

Superb! However, you never see this in the North of Britain! Why? ,

Because there's only one place that this ever happens. There are only two Naval Air Stations in the UK and both are in the South West - RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset, where this happens and RNAS Culdrose in Devon - where not so much happens!

It's because Yeovilton is the home base of the two helicopter assault squadrons that put on this display, its the only reason they can justify the expense and logistics involved in order to put on the display. Having grown up in Doncaster I was spoilt rotten with the air shows at RAF Finningley, even working a few but since moving to Devon I tried out the Navy version of an air show, and Yeovilton is an awesome one. 2015 is special to me as its the first air show I took my son to, and the last proper air show I saw the Vulcan fly at. :-)
